International law firm seeks a transactional Legal Secretary in our Houston office to provide secretarial and administrative support to attorneys, paralegals and other administrative personnel. Under general supervision and direction of assigned attorney(s), legal assistant(s) Office Administrator and the Human Resources Department and following prescribed departmental, Office and Firm procedures, Legal Secretaries are expected to perform all job duties with a commitment to providing superior service to clients, producing quality work products, and maintaining an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement.
Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
Type and edit computer system legal and other documents including correspondence, memoranda, bills, time sheets and project work from handwritten or typed materials. Handle completed work; proofread work; receive, screen and transmit telephone calls, conference calls and messages to/from attorneys and clients; process mail; prepare and process new client matter reports, time reports and expense reports; schedule and coordinate conferences, meetings, appointments and travel arrangements; maintain filing. Work schedule is 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday through Friday) Must be available to work overtime as required.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Five years legal secretary experience in corporate/transactional law.
