Kids gaming company with a start up mentality
Current Employee (Current Employee), Torrance, CA – March 13, 2013
Company has a good focus on work/life balance, and provides perks like happy hours, frequent lunches, unlimited drinks and snacks. Unfortunately management is poor.

Project Intern (Current Employee), Cleveland, OH – February 5, 2013
The experience was fun and enriching. The sector was not typically where I operate but it was great being a part of the non profit sector. They do great work there that really provides entrepreneurs with valuable tools and resources

Well held company for being so small.
Cashier/Customer Service (Former Employee), KS – January 24, 2013
Pros: very flexible, nice enviroment
Cons: doesn't pay the best, no set schedule
The enviroment is very welcoming and everyone is nice. It is a customer service job so it requires unseen needs such as personality traits and a good night sleep. It was a nice job to have if you were good with numbers, handling money, and cusomers. It is not a hard job but you will also be making mininum wage. Not a lot of room for advancement but – more... raises are considered based on compliance with the job. – less

Productive and Fun place to work
Corps Member (Current Employee), Boston, MA – December 16, 2012
I love working with the children hands on. Reading to them and participating in their play is interesting, I learn from them and vice versa. My co-workers are fun to work with because we all have one thing in common, our love for working with children. hardest part of the time is managing the classroom.

Fun day with the kids
AmeriCorps Member/ Teacher Assistant (Former Employee), Brooklyn, NY – August 30, 2012
Pros: birthday parties
Cons: having some of the kids to follow instructions
A typical day at the daycare where I worked is to help the children that are four year olds explore the world of learning. I learn to speak to them in different ways to help them understand better. There are in total of four co- workers and a team leader in the classroom to help maintain a great atmosphere. My workers and I have sessions with the kids – more... every tuesdays and thursdays. We teached them about Science, experimenting, Arts, self expressions and many more. The hardest part sometimes is to get them to focus. The most enjoyable part is their energy and their drive to learn – less

Fun and rewarding work environment
Corps Member (Former Employee), Atlanta, GA – July 17, 2012
Assist young children in reading, writing, and social skills. I learned to be a role model. My co-workers were students like I and worked well together to make a lasting impression on the children. The hardest part of the job was parting with the children each day. The most enjoyable part of the job was knowing that the children learned and retained – more... what was taught. – less

Lovely environment to communicate and work with people
AmeriCorps member (Former Employee), Jamaica, NY – May 20, 2012
A typical day of work, as seen to others, would consist of serving food, helping with reading, and building their phonic awareness. It is much more than that. The children, ages 3-5, are being prepped for Kindergarten. In Jumpstart, we introduced them to many different subjects such as writing, science, art, dramatic play and puzzles. We also read books – more... to them and incorporate vocabulary words that they should be able to know.
The management is greatly appreciated and the individuals are excellent! There is never an issue and they always available to help you. The co-workers are also excellent in which they have a passion for what they do.
The hardest part of the day is leaving the children. After a day filled with excitement and fun, it hard to watch the children leave and it great knowing that they are coming back. – less

I love working with kids
Corps Member (Current Employee), Fresno, CA – April 25, 2012
Pros: works well with school schedule
Cons: can't go in on days the kids are not there.
Kids are so happy, they really don't have any worries; they mainly only worry about if their going to get a chance to go outside, or what sticker their going to get that day, its wonderful.

Jumpstart For Young Children
Team Leader, volunteer (Current Employee), New York, NY – March 15, 2012
Jumpstart for Young Children because volunteers are able to see the children's progress in learning. Jumpstart provides a detailed lesson plans that really engage with preschool students. Volunteers help make Jumpstart. The best part of working for Jumpstart, is that we learn a lot through interacting with children.

Not for profit organization that works with children from low income homes.
Corps Memeber (Former Employee), Jamaica, NY 11451 – March 8, 2012
Jumpstart is a very enjoyable environment to work in, it is part volunteer, but you also get paid to the job. It is more affliated with colleges, and it is also a well known and recognized program that is offered to be a part of in many colleges in the U.S.

An Unforgettable Experience via Americorps
Americorps Member (Former Employee), Dorchester/Boston,MA – December 13, 2011
Pros: multiple environments to work in, great kids, fun toys
Cons: pay rate, taxing commuter fees, a series of superiors to report to...
I must start off by complementing their loan program. Apparently former employees are granted a $1000 loan after completion of a semester with Americorps. I tutored preschool children in Dorchester, MA with a work study grant via Emerson College. The kids were great. My consumer was Onijya, and I miss her very much. The songs and books reminded me of – more... my school days. – less

A very enjoyable role although not as challenging as i would like
Project Manager (Current Employee), Ross on Wye – July 19, 2012
Pros: fantastic team, holistic way of working
Cons: pay, no pension
I am fortunate to work with parents/carers/children and multi agency professionals. I plan, implement & run mobile soft play sessions for under 5's. I work with parents encouraging them to enjoy and support their children, along with Health Workers i offer advice and referals where needed so that families are able to reach their full potential.
I am – more... Project Manager for this company, also continuing to be a Play Leader, this ensures that i can view family and staff needs from each angle, which is of benefit to all concerned.
The hardest part of this job has been finding a balance between being a work coleague/friend and Manager. I have managed to keep a professional distance so that i am respected and taken seriously as a Manager.
I have been with this company for nearly nine years, working my way up from Assistant to Play Leader and now Manager, i have learnt a great deal through my studies and work experience and would like to find a role which utilises these skills/experience. – less
