CASA (court appointed special advocate), Norfolk, VA - January 23, 2017
A typical day at work would be very busy, organizing and connecting agencies with neglected and /or abused children in the City of Norfolk. I know have knowledge of the red signs to look for when it comes to children in these devastating environments. The management team for which I work, are all great people, and show massive amounts of compassion for helping and being supportive of our CASA cases. With this agency, the workplace culture is very diverse and my team and I, spend an considerable amount of time going over ways to improve the sphere of culture that we all experience now. The hardest part of the job is knowing that a child is not in a safe home. The most enjoyable part about the job is that, hundreds of children every year, find safe placement that will benefit their childhoods and ultimately shape their adulthood.
