I am new to the boards and also a recently unemployed Information Technology Specialist. I am attempting to get to either Kuwait (preferably), Dubai, Afghanistan, or Iraq in a Information Technology or MWR LOGCAP position. If someone could point me in the the right direction to a recruiter for either Dyncorp, Fluor or KBR? I would like to see discussions or questions on salaries, points of contacts, best recruiters to contact and tales from the spouses of our civilian workers supporting the OIF and OEF missions. The first thing I believe people need to be aware of is the TCN issues and the recent CENTCOM directive in Afghanistan. It is directing companies to repatriate certain nationalities. Will this free up jobs for U.K, U.S? I don’t think so. How about the down trend on salaries OCONUS? It’s happening at an alarming rate. Base salaries (without uplifts or hazard) are going for 30-60k. This equals with the uplifts to about $75-85k. Big contract announced in Kuwait – K-BOSS. CSA is out and ITT is in, though your best bet with ITT is to work in Afghan. WPPS contract has many webs to it. It’s not just security but an array of jobs and possibilities

I am being considered for a position as an MWR coordinator in Iraq with KBR. I want to talk with anyone who has/is working for KBR in Iraq. I need to know how you feel you are being treated, what are your living conditions like, are you glad you took the job, at which camp are you stationed, do you know anything about camp endurance in Qaiyarah?

Can anyone tell me a few things I am heading to iraq for kbr next month and have a pregnant wife at home. It says in the paperwork that you can not connect to the kbr internet and only use the bases internet stations but I have heard you can get the wireless internet for a monthly fee and use your personal laptop which one is true?? also can i use my overseas cell phone? i heard both they are allowed and that they are banned at all bases again which is true thank you for your help
