I was part of the massive layoff in Jan 2016 that cut the company in half. Sadly, I had been on the job less than 60days. During that 60 day period, exec mgmt spent lavishly on a retreat to Vegas and hired like wildfire but then sheepishly revealed that their Customer Acquisition Cost was dramatically too high. As a result the next round of funding either didn't come in or was conditional on a full re-org. and that's how you end up laying off more than 40%of your company during a single phone call.
Don't go to work here. Exec Mgmt responsible for this nonsense is gone but the company never recovered. Expect the remaining stragglers to soldier on until they're purchased by Yelp or Opentable.
