About Karona, Inc.

In 1980, Ron Sisson purchased the assets of Spartan Millwork company in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Spartan manufactured louver doors and windows in small quantity. The newly formed company, Karona, was named after Ron’s 2 daughters, Karin and Rona.

With a passion for engineering excellence, Ron has traveled extensively finding the very best equipment
 – more... for all facets of door manufacturing. Not only does the Karona equipment perform to exacting standards, the built-in efficiencies have allowed for continuous growth over the past 30 years.

In the mid 80’s, when new Karona clients requested interior and exterior doors from the small 10 person workforce, Karona accommodated the growth by moving to a new facility in Grandville, Michigan. At the same time Karona became a key supplier to many residential two-step distributors.

Over the years the Karona reputation for high quality doors created additional demand for both commercial and residential products. As volumes went up and distribution grew to a national level, so did the need for additional space and more modern manufacturing equipment.
That demand led/allowed/helped the company to double in size and move to a 100,000 square foot facility in the 80 acre Karona Industrial Park in Caledonia, Michigan, southeast of Grand Rapids.

Today, Karona's team members supply high-quality door products through residential and commercial distribution. Karona remains a family business committed to supporting long-term relationships with clients, suppliers and team members. The Karona door remains a measure of quality in any home or commercial/business setting. Karona doors are often private labeled through commercial distribution and are specified by architects as the door of choice for stile and rail interior and exterior doors. – less
