A super-law firm, filled with the best and the brightest..
Records Manager (Former Employee) – Los Angeles, CA – July 11, 2017
A fast-paced law-firm that allowed you to know the culture of a super-competitive legal environment.
I learned that 9 to 5, is not always "defined" by the hours you put in. That one must be flexible, and ever learning. Versatile enough to learn and think "out of the box", to stay ahead of the curve. I loved that no two days were the same. Just when you thought, you knew the job, something new was expected from you.
bonus, transportation incentives, 401k, etc.
there are always, some people, resistant to change
Nice co-workers, terrific in-house dining facilities, great new office space.
Senior Legal Secretary (Current Employee) – New York, NY – May 5, 2017
Busy, professional law office with some great people to work with. Great opportunity to register for computer classes on a monthly basis to keep Microsoft computer skills current (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Lovely place to work (even if you are under temp contract
Legal Secretary (Current Employee) – New York, NY – December 27, 2016
I have had the pleasure of meeting a lot of great people while working here in a professional and social setting. I was initially under 2 month temporary contract covering for someone on medical leave but was kept on for 18 months and moved up from receptionist to administrative assistant to finally a secretary position. Although I was not offered a permanent position, I am still very happy and honored to have worked here.
social networking, free lunches, friendly and helpful coworkers and attorneys, very thorough training
IP Legal Secretary (Current Employee) – Palo Alto, CA – July 3, 2015
Kaye Scholer's Silicon Valley office is a very relaxed environment. Everybody is professional and courteous. I enjoy the small office culture, where everybody in genuinely concerned with what makes everybody happy. Upper management is very helpful in providing a lot of resources for its staff to make them more efficient.
Also, being close to downtown Palo Alto is a huge perk!
Location, near public transportation
Crowded neighborhood, not a lot of places to have a private break, small eating area.
Audio Visual Technican (Former Employee) – New York, NY – March 25, 2015
Very exciting place to work, love the people and the culture. The learning experience was great also, the Managers and Directors did not limit any role, they gave a equal level of learning experience in the whole department
Great place to work good teamwork and benificial opportunities
Copy Operator (Former Employee) – 425 Park Ave 12th Fl New York,N.Y. – April 28, 2014
Working on jobs by logging them in or assigned by supervisory staff completing and serving internal customers to suit their needs on a daily basis learned datasite printing supervisory skils and oversize printing and board presentations the hardest part of the job was never recognized the best part of the job was the creativity I demonstrated in certain tasks and the ability to adapt to new procedures.
Paralegal/Legal Assistant (Former Employee) – New York, NY – September 12, 2013
I was so happy to leave KS. The moral of the firm has changed declined. Employees are nervous every day because so many people are getting the "pink slip" at any moment. Management seems lost. Their main objective is to keep the money in the Partners' pockets so they will cut productive workers because their salaries will give them more to take home.
Staff was friendly
Job Insecurity, Poor Management, Lack of Job Advancement
Client Billing Specialist (Current Employee) – New York, NY – March 10, 2013
A typical day for me would be, answering phone calls, editing all prebills from the attorney's, responding to email requests, filling in for co-workers, assisting in the submission of electronic billing and or any issues that might occur from the submission. Followup on delinquent bills, researching invoice backup requests by either the client/partner, getting writeoff approvals from our Director of Finance.
Proofreader (Current Employee) – New York, NY – February 24, 2013
A number of it's present employees are being asked to relocate to Tallahassee, Florida with pay cuts of up to 40/50%. Only guaranteeing employment for up to a year. Mostly great co-workers. Some of whom have been with the firm for upwards of 30 years, which, I think tells how much things have changed.
Legal Assistant Clerk (Former Employee) – New York, NY – October 25, 2012
This was the very first Law Firm I've worked for, after working for a court servicing company. When this position became available to me I was so grateful to be considered. I knew that Kaye Scholer is one the largest firms in New York. I was a Legal Assistant Clerk and then was added a Distribution position role to my responsibilites. I worked with other paralegals teams assisting them with trial preps. It was very busy in my department. My position was dissolved after 9/11 before the holidays.
