Productive place to learn and grow.
Graduate Assistant (Current Employee), Union, NJ – April 28, 2013
Pros: positive experiences and opportunities to grow
Cons: lack of resources
Kean University was a wonderful place to work. It challenged me as a student worker to incorporate what I learned in the classroom and apply it to my work. I learned advertising and promotion techniques. I developed skills in Adobe Photoshop and multiple programs in Microsoft Suite. The most challenging part of my job was not going over the limited – more... hours I was alloted each week. The most enjoyable part of my job was the satisfaction I gained in assisting students achieve their academic goals. – less

Student Accounting (Former Employee), Union, NJ – March 20, 2013
Pros: everything about this job was awesome.
Cons: no complaints
Working in the student accounting department at Kean University had to be one of the best experiences in mt life. one of the reasons is because i have always been interested in accounting and how everything works as far as college is concerned. Not to mention that you get all of the information that you need about your account first because you work – more... there and can check your own account. The employees, as well as the managers were like a huge family. Everyone got along and everyone worked hard together. – less

Excellent work environment with room for growth
Information Desk Graduate Assistant (Current Employee), Union, NJ – September 27, 2012
A typical day at work consists of managing the Information Desk Attendants and ensuring that their quality of work is up to par. I have learned how to manage a group of adults and evaluate the quality of assistance they are providing to patrons in order to ensure a positive, productive work environment. Management at this job is the best I have seen – more... out of all jobs I have held. They are very helpful, informative and prepare you for success. They always encourage promotion and moving up in the ranks. There is always an opportunity to achieve more. Co-workers are excellent as well-equally motivated and work as a team to ensure that operations are running smoothly. The hardest part of the job is not being able to fully supervise all employees due to class. The most enjoyable part of the job are the people. It is a very fun yet extremely productive work environment. – less

A great learning curve.
Student Financial Aid Assistant (Former Employee), Union, NJ – August 9, 2012
Pros: i worked with my classmates and was always around friends
Cons: short breaks
After classes I would head to work and assist with help desk, everything from fixing printers, ghosting computers, to virus protection.

Also did financial assistants for students which was just a great time because it was people I knew and I was able to understand the frustration of not knowing what is going on with your school finances.
Being able – more... to help felt great.

Management was great in the since that we were student workers and they were always will to teach us more and even help us understand our class work which in turn helped us understand the work we were doing much better.

The hardest part of the job was carrying computers/machinery to and from location when the hand cart was missing.
On the financial part dealing with angry parents but we always worked it out.

Learning new ways to improve or fix a problem was the enjoyable part of the day for me. – less
