Oversees all daily processes of the front counter. Supervise and mentor the support staff, academic specialists and student workers. Assists support staff in answering questions accurately or resolving problems in a calm, pleasant manner. Assist with development of all coverage calendars/schedules for the office. Office hours in the afternoon- then classes in the evening. Learned a lot from the students. A lot of micromanaging by administration. Interesting team to work with. Balancing 4 classes, publishing and committee responsibilities. In the classroom with students.
Pros: increase my oral and writing skill in english.
Cons: lack of interest from the students to learn all the courses objectives.
This position was dedicated to provide tutoring services for Business classes individually or for a small group of students. The tutoring services were offer to students with different college levels in English or Spanish.
Increase my general knowledge in the different business subjects.
Also assist with the organization of school events such as: – more... registrations, open house, and new student orientation.
My co-workers were students with different majors from different cultures reflecting the diversity in the work environment that contributes to learning from each other.
The hardest part of the job was the knowledge gaps that many students had which difficult their better performance in college courses.
The most enjoyable part of the job was contribute to the better understanding of the course, helping the students to move forward in their studies. – less

Cons: low pay.
—Advised undergraduate and graduate students individually or in small groups with advancing writing abilities. I helped students find a voice within their writing and helped better their grades. I also assisted with writing scholarship essays that helped multiple students receive scholarships toward their continued education.

Kean University was a wonderful place to work. It challenged me as a student worker to incorporate what I learned in the classroom and apply it to my work. I learned advertising and promotion techniques. I developed skills in Adobe Photoshop and multiple programs in Microsoft Suite. Cons: late hours of work
day started at 1600 and ended at 2200. learnt to work with people and how playing my personal role affected the overall outcome. good bosses who treat you and address you with respect. excellent co workers with work ethics and team players.hardest part was the working late hours. most enjoyable was independent working.
