Upper management poor unprofessional
Manager (Former Employee) –  CAMarch 15, 2017
I worked for them for 2 years always believed in them since I'm a Bay area native Kelly-Moore was always known for the place to work until year-and-a-half ago in which they had a realignment of districts and upper management from that point on it went downhill they do not understand the market or care anything about store-level employees some of them don't even know how to mix paint hard work goes unnoticed and unappreciated I have no clue how to run stores or treat people if you want room for advancement this is not the place for you they will take advantage and usually until you give up a lot of these new upper management are from other paint companies what makes you wonder why they are no longer there attitude reflects leadership and ever since the new regime took over morale and production is been low if your looking for a Walmart type job or they don't care then this is the job for you

Uppe management is lazy!
Sales (Former Employee) –  San Jose, CASeptember 15, 2016
You get no help or support from upper management! If you are hard working, they will expect you to take care of everything from front desk to working in the back room prepping paint for drivers, and walk in customers. All this while supervisors, and management, are doing nothing but watching you get over worked! I worked here 2 years before i could not take anymore. Corporate may not be aware because management puts on a fake show when they come around. I hear nothing has changed since!
Pros
You meet some really nice customers
Cons
Management makes work environment un pleasant

Worst place to work there are even rats throughout the office and warehouse, not sure if the locations would meet health standards. Philosophy & culture presented at time of hiring are rhetoric.

Sales Associate (Former Employee) –  tulsa okJune 8, 2016
worked here a few years and the store manager and assistant managers are some of the laziest people. they just sit in the office playing games and will make you work the counter alone with 5 customers waiting. they say it is employee owned but that is BS.
Pros
free paint
Cons
No job security at all, at will employee meaning instant termination or demotion any time

Best job I've had so far
Delivery Driver (Former Employee) –  Santa Clara, CAApril 25, 2016
I worked at Kelly Moore for 2 years and they were awesome to me. All my co-workers were very nice and hard working. My manager had a temper, but for the most part was a great boss. The hours were great. Plenty of opportunities for advancement. Paid vacation and sick time. You always got your lunch on time. The job was pretty demanding physically, but was a good workout. The worst part is trying to deliver paint to someone that can't speak english. Good benefits and bonuses every quarter.
Pros
Good hours, good pay, good benefits, paid vaca and sick time, good co-workers, good management
Cons
customers

It has uncovered skills I never thought I had, and have been able to develop them further
Inside Sales (Current Employee) –  Concord, CANovember 25, 2012
Very physically demanding job.
Daily tasks - stocking shelves, helping retail customers and commercial painters with product and color selection, color matching, cash management.
It's a great feeling when a customer returns to tell you how well their paint job came out, and the colors I helped them pick worked out perfectly. You know that your approach to customer service is good when people come back again and again...... AND refer their friends.
Pros
no two days are ever the same.
Cons
high healthcare costs
