SUMMARY: This position is part of the desktop engineering team to architect, design and implement solutions

Job duties include the following:
-Perform user, system and support requirements gathering and analysis to provide design and architectural recommendations
-Develop, organize and maintain standard operational procedures.
-Research options providing functional and technical written evaluations of products and operating system upgrades and patches.
-Create desktop/laptop build processes.
-Create and maintain systems documentation for testing and validation
-Prioritize work efforts, multi-task in a fast paced environment and provide timely and clear updates
-Submit weekly status reports
-Provide technical consultation and presentations to other IT colleagues
-Provide post implementation support, identifying root cause with strategic solutions to problems.
-Provide adequate notice of planned absences
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE
-Bachelors Degree with a major in computer science, management information systems or a closely related field
-Equivalent work experience, training or certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree
-Experience in development and management of helpdesk technologies and associated systems and best practices is especially desirable
-Attention to detail – thoroughness in accomplishing a task through concern for all the areas involved, no matter how small. Monitors and checks work or information and plans and organizes time and resources effectively. Provides information on a timely basis and in a usable form to others who need to act on it

Additional skills, experience, responsibilities that may pertain to this job or contract/area
-Experience architecting a large Windows desktop environment
-Experience with project management, deploying and supporting migrations and introducing new technology based on business need/client requests.
-Ability to work independently without intensive oversight
-Initiative and ability to research problems independently, finding root cause and proposing effective solutions.
-Advanced knowledge of operating systems and hardware systems used at the client site.
-Achieve and maintain knowledge of all applicable site procedures
-Microsoft MCSE or MCTIP
