Teacher, Camden, SC - September 7, 2017
Workplace that values exploring new and innovative strategies to increase student learning. The district values integrating technology to give students an education that will allow them to compete in a global society. The most enjoyable part of the job in Kershaw County schools is the willingness and eagerness of the students to learn. The most difficult part of working at this job is the application of many interventions simultaneously which makes it difficult to make valid conclusions about results. The most disappointing part of the job is the lack of help to employees in the case of a catastrophic illness. A less than efficient job bank for sick leave is offered that does not meet the needs of many employees. The workplace culture is relaxed yet professional. The work day is full which starts at 7:30 and ends at 4:00. The faulty ratio at many schools makes it imperative that many teachers wear many hats and take on extra duties.
