I worked as a Claims Examiner for almost 3 years. It was like a prison. Everyone ALWAYS looking over your shoulder. Very little positive feedback. The auditing process is set up so you will fail eventually. Too much stress and not enough pay. Most of my co-workers were good people. The managers and wannabe managers are just looking to advance themselves. – more... You are treated as disposable. If you are a provider or member, you are treated well. If you are an employee, you are looked down upon. Go elsewhere. – less

Customer Services Representative(World Class) (Former Employee), Philadelphia, pA – December 1, 2012
Pros: very professional working environment
Cons: lunch break never established at a regular time
A typical day at work would begin with establishing contact with my supervisor to get current updates. * I have learned that customer service is as important as the pilot flying the air plane or a surgeon performing a surgical procedure * Managment is important is important to keep the team focus on the jobs at hand. * interms of my co-workers, we worked – more... as a team to resolve issues within the framework of company policy. * The hardest part of the job was keeping up to date on new computer applications being rolled out on a regular basis from our information tech dept. * The most enjoyable part of the job was the family atmosphere that permeated through out the office environment. – less

Great working environment answered calls from members to insure their medical insurance was up to date. Learned about different types of insurance plans including and not limited to medicare, medicaid, HMO's etc. Was directed by a great team of leaders and worked with a group of caring individuals. The best part of the day was leaving work knowing that – more... I had help many families with their medical insurance needs. Knowing I always give 100 percent Customer Service. – less

Risk Assessment Specialist (Current Employee), Philadelphia, PA – September 8, 2012
Pros: flexible schedule, fair compensation
Cons: limited interaction with co-workers due to working from home.
Visit medical provider offices and review patient records, with special attention to chronic disease diagnosis and follow-up. I work primarily in the field or from my home with little supervision. The position requires excellent time-management skills and self-discipline. The most difficult part of my job is scheduling. The most enjoyable part of my – more... job is continually meeting and interacting with new people.
I am most interested in finding supplemental work on the weekends or in the evening (available at 4 P.M.) – less
It was Fun working their, No pressure, well motivated by the management.

Executive/Administrative Assistant (Former Employee), Philadelphia – June 26, 2012
Pros: free lunch
My typical day started with harrassment and ended that way. Many days I was in tears at my desk .
What I have learned is that the directors and managers work together if they don't like you to make you quit. They compile lies to have you terminated. The human resources department works along with the directors and managers to keepn you from getting – more... any help. They do not at all care about their employees, so the so call statement of what they believe is a big joke. The human resources department makes sure that you get know help, The person that I worked for lied on me more than once. The human resouces department worked along with them.
Had co-workers in my department that were spies, and the spies could do whatever they wanted and nothing was done. One thing they did was stole overtime hours.
Everyday was hard because of the treatment towards me.
The most enjoyable part was going home to my family. – less

Sounds like my old job that I was at for 10 years. You literally described it word for word. I'm not going to say which company, but we dealt with KMHP all the time. Guess it's everywhere. Human nature, I suppose. Very sad.

Claims Examiner (Former Employee), Philadelphia, PA – April 18, 2012
Pros: vacation time
Cons: unprofessional
The management was terrible. There is little room for advancement. Many of the employees are hired from lower income job placement agencies. Very unprofessional. Although if you were to work is a senior to mid level employee it is a comfy job with many benefits similar to a government position.
Pharmacy Tech. Call Associate (Former Employee), Philadelphia, PA – March 28, 2012
Pros: on fridays it was dress down day
Cons: too overboard with quality assurance phone work
Keystone Mercy is very strict and to the point when it comes to working there. I have learned so much there when I was employed there. I loved being on the phones helping members getting the accurate information that they needed and to make sure they were met.
Executive Assistant and Public Affairs Specialist (Former Employee), Philadelphia, PA – December 10, 2011
Pros: the location was convenient for me, my salary was decent.
Cons: like with any organization, you never knew what your future was.
I worked for Keystone Mercy Health Plan for more than 18 years. I experienced a company that grew from day-to-day and I adjusted to all of the changes quite well. As with any company, in order to make improvements, certain goals are set and have to be made. I was especially satisfied with the personable care that the Mission and Values of the company – more... were and gave to me. – less
