Contract Support Assistant (Current Employee) – Chantilly, VA – June 27, 2012
I think this company is a great company, there 401K is excellent. What company matches your for 401K dollar for dollar up to 10%?! Not a lot of companies do that. This company helps their employees when it comes to advancements which is a big plus for me. Over all I really believe this company is the best company I have worked for.
Don't waste your time unless you like being miserable!
Sub Contracts Program Manager (Current Employee) – Hanover, MD – October 31, 2017
This was a place with great benefits but are being cut. Their are no priorities and is very cutthroat. Management will not give you the tools you need to succeed and you have to figure a way to find your way around. No one will lift a finger to train or support you!
Video Engineer (Current Employee) – Maryland – October 9, 2017
KEYW has lost their focus on their core mission. They have acquired or merged with so many companies, the culture is lost. I would not mind to continue to work for them but the contract I work on is coming to an end.
Technician (Former Employee) – New England – August 23, 2017
Job culture is dependent upon the department you're in. The benefits are really good, but some personnel issues are pretty rampant throughout. Definitely a CYA environment, more concerned with who's at fault then finding a solution to a problem.
Excellent benefits, cool environment
Pace changes every day, too many managers/not enough employees
KeyW does not have any opportunities for employees to move laterally. The employee mobility program is a complete and utter joke that does not serve it's purpose. As a cleared, cybersecurity professional, it is quite worrisome to not have any mobility within the company. Make sure you are on a long-term contract or else the company won't know what to do with you after your contract ends.
Systems Engineer (Current Employee) – Hanover, MD – August 1, 2017
Working here for 3 years has been great. But with contracts ending and companies merging the companys ability to find current employees new positions is severely lacking. The so called employee mobility program cannot even get managers or recruiters to call you back, let alone in the 24-48 hour period they advertise.
KEYW is a great place to work. They offer excellent benefits and work/life balance. I didn't work directly with anyone at KEYW, as I was subcontracted out to another contractor. I still received plenty of support when needed.
Security and Defense Research Analyst (Current Employee) – Hanover, MD – December 20, 2016
KeyW is a great place to work and has great benefits as well. There are many sections within KeyW that concentrate on teaching, so if you want to teach this is a great place. Other job roles are less available but increasing every year.
IT Project Manager (PM) (Former Employee) – Hanover, MD – April 3, 2014
KEYW is by far the best place to work in the Baltimore area. KEYW is a corporation that cares about it's employees on and off the job, this is evidence by the great benefits they offer their employees and the frequent morale booster activities and perks given to support employees.
A typical day at KEYW always involve taking the initiative to get the mission done first and enjoy the benefits of a job well done. I learned that help/support/training is always available for employees who desire to rise above the norm. The company is overstocked with a core of great managers and an Intelligent Philanthropic CEO. The hardest part of the job is trying to shine among so many stars and hoping that your tenure never ends. The most enjoyable part of the job is working for a company with such a great group of highly trained professionals and the respect that the clients have for the company.
KEYW has been a very nice company to work for. They are really thoughtful of their employee's and provide good benefits and nice employee functions.
Field Service Engineer (Current Employee) – Fort Meade, MD. – November 19, 2013
A typical day at work on the last team I was on involved monitoring the health of the systems and when a problem would occur take the appropriate actions to solve the problem. I felt comfortable with the other team members. I learned a lot about different applications that I was not as familiar with. Sometimes we would have a group lunch which was enjoyable.
Business Administrator (Former Employee) – Chantilly, VA – November 3, 2013
Depends on work location. Flex time, able to adjust your working hours. I supported a contract where my co-workers were not fellow KEYW employees, my co-workers were employees from various companies. Hardest part of the job was that my parent company (KEYW) depended on people that I did not work with; I did not know them/they did not know me; to determine my productivity and the value of my support. Most enjoyable part of my job was the mission I supported.
Corporate (Current Employee) – Hanover, MD – March 21, 2013
KEYW is a fantastic company. I've been in the workforce for nearly 10 years, and I've never worked for a better company! KEYW cares about employee growth and the mission statement. I can see why KEYW was ranked one of the top workplaces in Baltimore and lauded for its benefits packages and employee programs.
Moreover, KEYW is on the front lines of development in cybersecurity. KEYW is a place where employees feel like they are making a tangible difference in the security of our country.
quarterly mwr events such as "fun money", donations to favorite charities, employee growth
System Administrator (Former Employee) – Hanover, MD – November 11, 2012
This company is an excellent company that offers employees top of the line health, 401K, and many other benefits. If you looking for a company to invest your time, heart, and soul into this company will definitely take care of you!
