Childcare
Assistant Teacher (Current Employee) –  Delran, NJ 08075August 15, 2017
Typical day in a daycare is interacting with children ages infants to Pre-K. During the day the staff would prep meals for the children, plan lesson plans and activities, do potty training/changes, take the children outside on the playground/splash play during the summer. If you enjoy being around children then this is the right job for you. The only downfall about the job is poor management and little pay.
Pros
rotating day off during the week
Cons
poor mangement

Not paid enough
Lead (Current Employee) –  Plainfield, ILAugust 15, 2017
If you like to be under appreciated and paid very little then work here. Management is a joke and flakey. Owners only care of about money and themselves. There is no room for advancement. You are not allowed to be creative in your room (decorating walls with art work, bulletin boards and doors can't be decorated how you want). Turn over rate is very high.
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Everything

DAY CARE ASSISTANT TEACHER (Current Employee) –  Jackson, NJAugust 7, 2017
I enjoy working at Kiddie Academy. It is a fast paced environment. The only con is that there aren't any opportunities to get PTO hours. I love having weekends off and interacting with the children.

Childcare Provider (Current Employee) –  Wading River, NYAugust 1, 2017
No benefits, some days the employees would not get breaks while working 9 hour days, teachers get thrown all over the school into different rooms even when unaware of the daily schedules

Families are GREAT
Owner, Direct Marketer (Current Employee) –  Hoboken, NJJuly 31, 2017
The teachers work very hard and become creative with the resources that they are given to work with. The hardest part about the job is the pay. The lack of communication and team as a whole.
Cons
401k, Pay, communication

Great Early Childhood Education experience
Teacher (Current Employee) –  Arlington Heights, ILJuly 20, 2017
I worked at this company for a few years. The environment is the best for Early Childhood Education. The experiences provided for children and families is phenomenal.
The expectations for the employees are high but once you have all of the systems down, it is a great place to work. Management is pretty good and has high expectations.
This is a half structured and half self discovery environment for children. The parents are pretty grateful as they have seen how other environments work and this is top notch comparatively.
Pros
Strong Early Childhood curriculum, high technology, childcare discount, health insurance
Cons
Flexible schedules are required, high learning/onboarding for job, high continuing education, no dental or vision insurance

Great families, unprofessional staff and management
Teacher (Current Employee) –  O'Fallon, MOJuly 17, 2017
The families and children are fun to teach and interact with. The staff are friendly, but overworked. The management team/supervisors cut hours unexpectedly, force the staff to take 1.5 to 2 hour lunches daily to avoid overtime, try to force the teachers to use vacation time when hours are cut, are very unprofessional toward team members (i.e. walking out of meetings when frustrated, cursing at team members within earshot of children, etc). No benefits are offered and most "full-time" teachers end up working only 30 hours.
Pros
Free snacks, work with a co-teacher
Cons
Cut hours with little heads up, no benefits, poor communication

Stepping Stone Job
Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) –  New JerseyJuly 17, 2017
Environment varies from day to day and also depends largely on the culture the ownership dictates. Use this school as a resume builder and know that long term employment is not guaranteed. Stressful at times, need high energy and flexibility to work with a variety of ages.
Pros
Easy Schedule, holidays and weekends off
Cons
Major turnover, days of high stress

Eh
Assistant Teacher (Former Employee) –  Farmingdale, NYJuly 6, 2017
Not the greatest place to work, management only followed laws when the state came, otherwise classes would be out of ratio many new employees started without necessary documents such as fingerprinting, which is disgusting. New teachers were not trained properly, raises were not given. Overall a very toxic work environment.

Horrible place to work
Teacher (Former Employee) –  Ellicott City, MDJuly 3, 2017
Worst Company to work for. Owners adjust your pay because they don't wanna pay overtime. They talk down to their employees as if you don't know anything. Very rude. Director is nasty as well.
Pros
Fellow teachers are very nice
Cons
No healthcare, no paid time off, owners don't care about their employees

Clean Workplace
Head Teacher (Former Employee) –  Queens, NYJuly 2, 2017
Kiddie Academy are franchises and are owned and operated by different owners so this soley represents the Kiddie Academy of Whitestone. The pay is really aweful of the teachers, it works out for a high school student, but other than that, I'm not sure how the pay would suffice living in new york city.
Pros
clean and safe environment
Cons
pay

I love this place! Great people to work with and all around a good vibe! The management is awesome! The only con of this job is pay. Being a daycare teacher you don't make too much money, but otherwise I love this job!

Lead Teacher (Former Employee) –  Cary, NCJune 25, 2017
I wouldn't recommend you put yourself through the non-sense. The turnover ratio for this center in particular is ridiculously high. Very unprofessional staff. terrible work environment and the director is way too hard to work with. RATE -10
Cons
NO bathroom break, wanting to leave on time is frowned upon.

I enjoyed working with the kids a lot
Floater Teacher (Former Employee) –  Freehold, NJJune 23, 2017
I loved the families, I loved my classroom, most if not all of my co-workers were just lovely people who were putting their 100% into their classrooms and work. Management should take some classes on how to handle employees, they were stiff and came off kind of unfriendly when they had something important to discuss. Not to say they aren't good people, they were always very accommodating and sweet. Their communication skills were in the toilet though and that was stressful, but the staff was such a fun mix of women. I really did love working there.
Pros
Benefits and discounts
Cons
poor upper management communication

Owners only care about money!
Teachers Assistant/Driver (Former Employee) –  Batavia, ILJune 21, 2017
The owners don't care about the children, all they care about is the money! They don't praise their staff and are never happy with anything! Always negative feedback from them!
