A typical day at Kids Corp was for me to go in and separate my classroom. We would eat breakfast and fall into our scheduled that included art activities, texture activies, small groups, flash cards, free play, and outside time.
The students all had special needs, and my classroom was the behavior classroom, so in my typical day their were also a lot of power struggles, and time outs. There were occasions that students would get very violent.
My management was not very helpful, the would not come to our classroom or offer any positive feedback. When management wanted you to perform a task they would word it in a n unprofessional way.
My co-workers and I got along wonderfully, we worked as a team to help each child.
The hardest part of my day was the times when routine was off. If lunch was late, or it we before or after schedule free play, the class would be very hectic. The most enjoyable part of my day was when you saw progress in a child, even something as mild as a child using a spoon was a huge accomplishment.
