About Kiewit

Peter Kiewit Sons' is a heavyweight in the heavy construction industry. The general contractor and its subsidiaries have a breadth of expertise, building everything from roads and dams to high-rise office towers and power plants throughout the US and Canada. Its transportation projects, which include bridges, rail lines, airport runways, and mass transit – more... systems, account for a majority of its sales. Kiewit also serves the oil and gas, electrical, power, and waterworks industries. Affiliate Kiewit Mining owns coal mines in Texas, Montana, and Wyoming. The company, which was founded in 1884, is owned by employees and Kiewit family members.

As a leader in transportation construction, Kiewit is responsible for several notable highway and bridge projects, from replacing a segment of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge Skyway to upgrading the Sea-to-Sky Highway between Vancouver and Whistler, British Columbia.
