One of the main drawbacks is the inability to be competetive with pricing on many arenas.

Cons: waste of your time, resource and effort.
One of the worst companies I've ever worked for, their management structure offers you a couple of days fieldwork and training. You have to pay all your expenses, as well as their promotional items. There is no customer base because they turn it over to inside sales when the previous rep leaves and allow you the privilege of starting from zero. Pros: they take care of all your expenses when you attend trainings, flexible schedules, be your own boss
Cons: if you don't perform you won't succeed, they expect alot out of their employees, very little help when needed
A lot of driving your own vehicle, you run into really nice potential customers and really rude mean potential customers. Management is can be a little more helpful. You don't work with co-workers on sight, but a lot of phone calls to corporate and the distribution centers and they are all really nice people. They recruited me on there was a good customer base and previous salesman passed away. After working there found out very little customer base and I was like the 6th salesman that year in that area.
