Fast paced place with awesome kids
Discovery Preschool Teacher (Current Employee), Huber Heights, OH –
Working with toddlers can be stressful. The toddlers keep you on your toes but it is well worth it. I have learned alot about children by just watching the way they play and interact. I enjoy working with my manager and all of my co-workers! The hardest part of my job is getting attached to the children and them moving or leaving the center. The children – more...  are hands down the best thing about working at a daycare. – less

Productive and fun workplace
Bus Driver/Teacher (Former Employee), Kimberly, WI –
It was a great place to work. The children were a lot of fun to get to know and teach, and to watch them grow. My fellow teachers were a great pleasure to work with and to become friends with. The hardest part of the job was keeping rack of all the kids on field trip days and trying to keep them all interested in the things we were learning. The most – more...  enjoyable part of my job was watching the children grow and to watch their faces as they finally get what we were trying to teach them. – less

OK
Preschool teacher (Current Employee), Lake Oswego, OR –
Pros: working with children, free lunch :)
Cons: management, inconsitency
Working for KinderCare has been both great and disheartening. I love working with the kids but sometimes I feel like the management doesn't care about the actual education, only about the flow of money. If they put energy in allowing teachers to provide great education the money would flow.

productive work place
Teacher Assistant (Current Employee), Richmond, VA –
Pros: no weekends
Cons: steady cut hours
Kinder Care is great place to work if you are not looking for advancements. Its for someone who has no major bills or a family to care for. Working for Kinder Care has been a very good experience but I am looking for more now.

I had a good work environment and an awesome manager. Corporate kept cutting employee hours and there was a freeze on raises and advancement.
Preschool Teacher, Duties (Former Employee), Spring, TX –
Pros: understanding director, flexibillity with schedule when needed, great team to work with.
Cons: hours being cut, not being compensated for hard work and training, no advancement
I would usually work 5 to 8 hours a day and I was in charge of two different age groups each day. In the mornings I would teach Pre-K and was in charge of 19 children until 2:30. At 2:30 I was in charge of the school age children, ages 5 to 12 until 6:30. I learned a lot about child develpement and behavior. I had two really good directors who truly – more...  cared about the children as well as their employees and the school itself. I had a great relationship with all my co-workers and we were an awesome team who always had each others back. The hardest part of the job was helping the children with major behavorial problems and not having a lot of support from the parents. I had quite a few children that were in foster care and had extreme anger management problems. I would get attacked or hit at least 2 to 5 times a week as well as dealing with a lot of verbal abuse. The most enjoyable part of the job was teaching my children new and exciting things and to have unconditional love from so many of them was so rewarding. – less

Active Adventures Coach (Current Employee), West Chester, PA –
Pros: evenings and weeks off
Cons: days can be long
Kindercare Learning Centers are a great place to work. If you love children and have patience, this is one of the most rewarding jobs you can have. It is exciting to watch the children learn and have fun. Co-workers are a great help and makes the job much easier.

Strong childcare company
Assistant Director / Acting Director (Former Employee), Edgewood, MD –
Pros: great corporation with room to advance.
Cons: 12 hour days at $8.00 an hour
I handled administrative duties for the center, ordering supplies, supervising and supporting teachers and bus driver. Hardest part was working with many different personalities. Loved working with the children and the parents.

The parents and the children are awesome and the best part of wroking there was interacting with children and their families.
Lead Teacher (Former Employee), Apple Valley, MN –
Many of the parents loved the way I interacted with their child (ren) and the way that I spent time teaching and caring for them. All the children knew my name and they liked when I was equally silly with them. The assistant director she was lots of fun to talk to and interact with as well.

Highly demanding workplace
Director (Former Employee), Davenport, IA –
Pros: large childcare discount
Cons: long hours, difficult position
This was a highly demanding position that required me to wear multiple hats at all times. It was rewarding in that I mastered a number of new skills quickly, and was always busy.
The job was difficult in that I really didn't have enough hours in the day to accomplish what was expected and when help was provided it was too little too late.

Long hours, and little pay!
Asst. Director (Former Employee), Lancaster, CA –
Pros: being able to have your child there at the center, with a slight discount.
Cons: poor and expensive benefits, horrible pay, long hours, and lots of stress!
KinderCare is a huge corporation, who's main goal is to make money. There childcare centers are state of the art, and beautiful. They do not pay their employees well! The turn over rate is huge! They do not support their teachers, if something goes to corporate, they will fire you. If you're looking to devote your entire life into working hard for very – more...  little then this is the place. – less

Awful, don't ever apply for a job here!
Pre-K teacher (Current Employee), Fort Collins, CO –
Pros: its a job...
Cons: schedule, pay, management
I love working with children and teaching and this is where, if you love both of these things, the things you love will go to die. Understaffed, poorly managed, children are moved around like cattle from class to class, no consistency.

Mixed Feeling about KC
Assistant Teacher (Current Employee), East Lansing, MI –
Pros: the childern
Cons: gossip, low pay
I love working with the kids but the district manager is very picky about how the center is set up and for no reason. The center I work at is short staffed and we all work long hours.

lead teacher (Former Employee), gaithersburg –
Pros: ceu training, and positvie workplace
Cons: pay
Mangement is ever down to earth. Love how the make sure everyone is up to date with CEU's. I like how they do the training twice a year with other centers in the area. Gives you to give and take ideas from other teachers in your field.

I enjoyed the people and children I was able to spend time with.
preschool teacher (Former Employee), geneva, il. –
Pros: it was located close to my house.
Cons: break schedules varied too much, very low pay for the work done, expensive medical benefits.
My review is that I learned an important lesson at this job. Watch your back and do not try to accept blame for something that is not your fault (this only includes temporary management members). Also, I learned to speak up when something isn't right.
