Minimal Training, Long Hours, High Expectations, No Overtime
Clown (Current Employee), CircusAugust 24, 2014
Pros: there are no pros to this company
Cons: everything about this company
You are expected to work in a high pace environment with little to no tools at all to complete the required job. Every day a new rule change occurs that contradicts the previous days rules and policies. You are expected to know everything without any sort of training, and the training you do receive is minimal at best. Leadership in the company is laughable. – more... Certain individuals are allowed to belittle their employees, just because they are creating revenue for the company. There are some enjoyable parts of the job, but they are trumped by the worst parts of the job. Hardest part of the job is just getting through the day, and the most enjoyable part is getting to leave at the end of it. – less

Pros: opportunity to work with applicants in person
Cons: no opportunity for advancement
At Knight Transportation, I was the Arizona Regional Recruiter, which required me to field through applicants. I interviewed the walk in applicants, and I fielded through thousands of applicants ensuring they met the qualification of Knight Transportation.

Worst company ever!!
Truck Driver (Current Employee), Phoenix, AZAugust 16, 2014
I have drove semi for over 20 yrs. This company has no organization to it. They promise you the world and you set ALOT. They cannot tell you what you are doing 3 days ahead. Takes the shops 6hrs to fix a turn signal and a flat and an A service. That was with the trk. in the shop the whole time!! Dispatch and their (planners) do not talk to each other – more... and they are in the same room! No one cares if you have a problem they just pass the buck till your tired of being on hold. The shop never answers the phone. The week of orientation is a joke. They pay you 50.00 To tell you stuff you already know. And don't tell you things ,like how much you get paid with the (sliding pay scale) that usually amounts to 4-500 a week. DO NOT work for this company if you want to live a comfortable live with good pay. You will not have the money to pay your bills!!! They say no force dispatch, if you refuse a load they say that is the only load they can get you so your FORCED to take it!! – less

Professional Driver (Current Employee), Phoenix, AZJuly 9, 2014
Pros: no comment
Cons: no comment
The amount of hours put in and then seeing the pay at the end of the day is not worth it being in the squire program. The schooling/training program needs improvement.

Dispatchers pick up and act rude at times, most are quick to want to get off the phone with you. Also, It takes forever to get a hold of Breakdown.

The part I enjoy about this job is – more... being out in the open road and seeing the country. The equipment they gave me was a 2011 Volvo with 57x,xxx miles but still ran fairly decent. It did have a problem with the headlight though I managed to temporarily fix the solution. – less

Truck Driver (Former Employee), Indianapolis, INJune 9, 2014
Driving over the road transporting goods in a tractor trailer. Working 14 hour days, driving 11. Office people were nice not so much the drivers, they were very rude and short, everything is always late and due yesterday. The training here was not good at all. I did love the traveling and driving part. You are gone 3 to 4 weeks at a time which can be – more... hard. – less

Could possibly be the worst company I've worked for...
MIS Help Desk Technician (Current Employee), Phoenix, AZMay 29, 2014
Pros: never had an issue with my pay checks.
Cons: 50+ hour work week and no raises.
Promises were made during my interview process by upper management that were never fulfilled. No one in the company worked less than a 50 hour work week. Company policy is not to give employee reviews or raises (EVER). Knight a mormon company, which is great if you're mormon, horrible if you're not. Expect exactly no training from the company. The employee – more... turnover at this company is the worst I've seen. – less

An exciting and challenging work environment.
Lease Owner/Operator (Current Employee), Phoenix, AZApril 21, 2014
The daily grind is everything but ordinary. Although the basics of driving a truck don't change, road conditions, traffic patterns and the people one comes in contact do. Shipping and receiving clerks are unique and must be treated as individuals each with their own idiosyncrasies. Customer service is not merely a requirement, but an imperative.

Attempting – more... to grow a business is always a challenging task and requires the assistance of the support staff in operations. From the Driver Manager to the Division Manager, it takes team work to be successful in any endeavor, and communication is key above all else . – less
