It may be hard work and long hours but the money and benefits are worth it. It's a long hour job and stressful if you have younger kids to tend to. Overall, it's pretty good.
Pros
Unlimited overtime, good money
Cons
Short breaks, long hours, 110 degree weather or 10 degree weather.

Strong MBM Culture
NA (Current Employee) –  Wichita, KSJune 13, 2017
Everything revolves around MBM - Market Based Management. This at it's core is a libertarian viewpoint in which you rely on yourself to advance. If you are willing to sacrifice and bring new ideas with courage you will excel.

Power Plant Operator (Former Employee) –  Odessa, TXMay 4, 2017
They tell you one thing when you get hired about pay raises and when it comes down for a raise based on you finishing your qualifications you get denied and make up some BS that they don't do that.

Bad work environment, stayed sick the entire time i worked there, supervisers arent on the same page
Mainline (Former Employee) –  Morristown, TNJanuary 26, 2017
I did not havre the best work experience at loch industry. The floors were always bloody and slick, they don't have as much quality chickens come out of mainline due to the speed they want you to work, they are more worried about quantity, quality chickens should come first.
Pros
Good benefits decent pay
Cons
Work environment is disgusting, bad hours

The company is great, has potential for growth.
Mechanic / Boilermaker (Current Employee) –  Richmond, CA Chevoron RefineryDecember 3, 2015
The project consisted of a mayor maintenance and renewal of refinery plant, our specific job was to take the facility and do a shut down or take it off stream to do the replacement of filters, catalytic units, inside the towers had different sections that had what we call packing, metal grids that do the actual separation of the different components of crude oil. Prior to entering the facility we conducted a safety meeting, delegated responsibilities since we worked different towers we separated in groups, each individual group would have their own field safety meeting, and job safety analysis to recognize possible dangers and provide proper PPE personal protection equipment, including the appropriate respiratory gear, since the work consisted of confined spaces we requested special confined space entry permits as recommended by Chevron and California safety standards, learned California safety and documentation procedures, team work, we worked the night shift some what had visibility issues, great learning experience, I would do it again. The travel part is interesting, get to know different places.
Pros
Good paying job, included daily perdeams.
Cons
Must be self sufficient have transportation and provide FR Clothing

Many opportunities for advancement, decent pay and benefits
Software Developer & Analyst (Former Employee) –  Wichita, KSNovember 9, 2015
A typical day involved working with computers and learning/performing web design, forms design, and graphic design. Co-workers were mostly easy to work with; however, many of the managers were not qualified to be so. The most enjoyable part was learning many facets of computer use and the hardest part was spending the day in short (three-foot) cubicles which offer no privacy whatsoever.

Long hours, stressful work environment, lack of job security
Supply Chain Management (Former Employee) –  Wichita, KSAugust 4, 2015
Lots of turnover at leadership level in the business. Difficult to find a senior leader who takes an interest in you personally and will coach and develop you. Long hours and stressful work environment. Very little job security as they prefer to send (lower level people) packing rather than to address and fix the overall culture problems in the business. Many strong individual performers are put into leadership roles but are not good leaders.
Pros
location, cafeteria, benefits
Cons
Constant reorganization, office politics is ridiculous
