Call Center Agent (Current Employee) –  Moline, ILOctober 3, 2016
Taking inbound calls from customer and being first point of contact. Learned how to deal with upset customers. Open door policy. Nice co-workers. Hardest part of job is working nights and the most enjoyable is the people I work with.

Quality Technician (Current Employee) –  Allen, TXSeptember 27, 2016
For a company that has been around a long time, I am really surprised how unorganized the company is. There are too many people in charge and not enough people to do actual, real work.
Pros
Work days, work hours
Cons
Unorganized, decisons made are not based on data or facts

Many opportunities to be successful. It is relatively easy to relocate around the country if you are flexible for moving and are willing to put in the work.

Doesn't want to address real issues
Current Employee (Current Employee) –  Pacific NorthwestJuly 15, 2016
Some companies believe they can keep doing the same thing, with the same people, and get different results. Stick to taking care of customers, value good employee's and profits will follow.

SAP Security Analyst (Current Employee) –  Moline, ILJuly 6, 2016
The work culture is pretty laid back but the lack of professional people and willing to go above-beyond skills set is lacking.
Pros
You get to work with minimum supervision and the company culture is laid back.
Cons
Management is poor especially when all the upper manager is based in Europe

Good Employer
Project Manager (Former Employee) –  Irving, TXMay 4, 2016
Innovative products.
Hardest part of the job was scheduling all the projects: approval drawings, equipment scheduling, project staffing, etc. They hire a lot of new college grads that keeps the place fun. Good atmosphere.
Pros
flexibility
Cons
none

Doing more with less
Manager (Current Employee) –  Beltsville, MDMarch 18, 2016
Company is all about doing more with less. Employees wear too many hats, very stressful environment. There is too many managers, and not enough support. Managers don't want to listen and are not from the elevator trade. They come up with ideas that don't always make sense b/c of this. This makes for even harder environment for employees. Company is constantly a revolving door especially in DC. Once people see what it is about they want nothing to do with the place. People leave pretty much every 2 years if not sooner.Too many meetings not enough time to get anything done. Training consists of more meetings where you are left thinking "what did I just sit through"? You are left feeling like you learned nothing, and that they just want to say they trained you. Meanwhile while you sit in all these micro managed type meetings, you are still held to getting everything done.
Pros
some good people
Cons
bad management, too many hats

Work Life Balance
Director of IT Regional Services - Americas (Former Employee) –  Moline, ILMarch 8, 2016
KONE is very bad at providing a work / life balance for employees that travel. I was required to travel internationally and never given comp. time for the weekends that I was flying.

They also do not replace position that are required for long periods of time and require the managers to continue to get the workload completed.
Pros
Good Benefits
Cons
poor work/life balance, heavy workloads

Just another call center
Assisting customers (Former Employee) –  Moline, ILFebruary 15, 2016
Inflexible schedules that change weekly and with only a couple days notice, rare feedback on your performance, nothing is done in unison, terrible attendance policy and unfair, they kind of just make up the rules as it goes, high turnover, and ridiculous standards allowing 3 mistakes all year to be made. poor raises, they put you in multiple services and tasks thru the day with no warning. Upper management is un-involved with the agents. Overall for what they pay which is on the low end of call center work i would look else where. Not a team environment.
Pros
potlucks and nice co-workers
Cons
a place that sets their agents up for failure, with very little in training after the initial training is done.. no life/work balance period.

Assembly/Escalator Builder (Former Employee) –  Coal Valley, ILJanuary 24, 2016
productive place to work. People were easy to get along with. Could be organized a little better. I believe that management could be better as far as communicating with the workers on the floor.
