Kotura, was founded in October 2003 through the merger of Arroyo Optics and Lightcross. Both companies, based in southern California, have developed industry leading integrated opto-electronic products for the optical communications industry. Our value proposition is based on utilizing our silicon platform to deliver smaller, lower cost, integrated opto-electronic solutions while achieving the highest performance and reliability.
The company's results-driven technical team has extensive experience in optical and electrical design, semiconductor devices and processes, and has proven manufacturing and commercialization capabilities. Over 50 patents are pending or issued.
Our silicon platform enables us to deliver dynamic optical modules by combining monolithic and hybrid integration of active devices with passive waveguide devices - all on a single silicon chip. This integration enables us to offer exceptional performance in a small, low power form factor - and at the lowest cost per function.
Our in-house silicon CMOS fab allows rapid prototyping and process development to optimize the performance of the integrated devices. Our advanced packaging and testing capabilities enable us to offer complete module-level integrated products. Our Telcordia qualified UltraVOA Array is our initial Silicon Opto-Electronic Integrated Circuit (SOEIC) product.
Kotura also develops custom SOEIC devices using our advanced design and modeling capabilities and our in-house silicon CMOS fab. We are able to deliver high performance custom devices with short turn-around times. An example of our custom development efforts is our integrated four channel multimode mux chip.
