Manufacturing Factory of Krispy Kream Doughnuts
Sanitation Laborer (Former Employee), Miami, FL – May 20, 2013
Pros: free products and coffee
Cons: language barrier, failure to follow sanitation proceudres, failure to secure rear services entrances after hours of darkness in a high crime area.
Upon arrival, assigned work area was trashed, and disorganized. General Manager set forth sanitation procedures for serving trays utilized for displaying and storage of doughnuts for customers; however employees failed to comply with sanitation procedures. When management was advised, no corrective action was taken.

Helping People and Providing Great Customer Service

Very small stores with little space make work frustrating. No advancement up the line
Team Member/Processor/Packer (Current Employee), Indiana – April 23, 2013
Pros: good benefits overall, some variety in work day at times
Cons: very small stores, low pay, and tasks can get repetitive quickly.
After working at the company for about five weeks my patience has truly been tested time and time again. The particular store where I work at is very small and not indicative of the doughnut factory type of work performed at the location. It is not simply just a regular doughnut shop that produces product for that store alone. We also produce hundreds – more... to thousands of different types of doughnuts a day for retail stores, convenience stores, and other shops. The lack of space really makes things hectic and what space we do have is very limited. I often find myself having to squeeze into a corner or literally bend backwards over the production line so that other people and equipment can get through the narrow passageways of the store. The store office is also in an inconvenient area which is right in front of the production equipment which often means that necessary storage equipment has to be moved out of easy reach which slows down employee rhythm and speed which often results in the line of never ending product to advance further down the line to it's potential waste at the trash bins on the end of the conveyor belt system. It is really a test of patience and tolerance and tasks can often get on your nerves very quickly.

Advancement within the company is also very slow. Since i have started I have been in the same area with no promotion to new areas within the store. I have made requests to management that I would like to work the front areas from time to time but my request has so far gone un-granted as they tell me there is still a lot to learn even though I have become very comfortable with my duties at this point.

Krispy Kreme is not a bad place to work necessarily but be prepared to have one or more stress filled days as certain days are more hectic than most and you often have to make quick adjustments to your body posture and speed of work depending on how busy the store and other employees become. – less

Very interesting, fun and exciting workplace.
Marketing Coordinator/Administrative Assistant (Former Employee), Macon, GA – February 5, 2013
Pros: free doughnuts.
Cons: fast pace work environment.
A typical work day involved taking fundraising orders, making fundriasing doungnut day deliverys (helping organizations setting up doughnut dipping station), supervising retail, counting cash and recording from all three stores and making deposits, checking in routes distubuting supplies between stores and answering phones handling customer compliants. – more... I learned how to work effectively under pressure. The management team was great. I worked very well with management and my co-workers. The hardest part of the job was the long hours. I was a salary worker. The most enjoyable part was the versitility of the job. There were no two days the same. – less

Very fun place to work and always rewarding us on job well done
Manager (Former Employee), Lafayette, La – January 13, 2013
Pros: advancement, pay, discounts
Cons: healthcare benefits could of been better
I started off as a crew person then moved up to trainer where i traveled and helped open new stores opening and training all the employees , that was such a great experience . Then I moved up to Assistant manager which was very rewarding and a great learning experience ! The employees all had great respect for me and all management so we all worked – more... great together, very rare did we have a issue with someone not following rules and regulations. The hardest part of my job was probably having to run the production line when a employee was late, Its very time consuming and theres other things i needed to get done . But i multi tasked and managed to get it all done . The most enjoyable part of my job was training new employees and learning new things to make my job more successful . – less
