When i came into this position, I replaced a manager who had been here for 15 years and had basically quit her job a year before they let her go. Of the 54 units in the building, 23 were vacant and not move in ready. Filing was in piles on the floor and the building keys were in a big baggie.
Within 4 months I straightened everything out as far as keys, files and readying the apartments for rent. My building was full within 6 months.
I developed great relationships with the tenants in that time as well. They could see that I wanted to help them in getting things straightened out.
I enjoy my job but the building has been sold and new management is not offering me a new position.
