Love my work, but the people...ugh
Contractor (Current Employee), Columbus, OH – August 26, 2012
Pros: sample sales
Cons: bad leadership, long hours
Incompetent leadership makes working at La Senza totally chaotic. It is a brand in transition, but decisions being made seem to lack rhythm/reason.

Nice co-workers, but very catty.

Hardest part of the job: the various "personalities" and people w/ diva complexes

Enjoyable part of the job: doing the actual work

- As a whole, the company has unrealistic values and expectations of staff and customers.

Productive and fun atmosphere to work in
Key Holder (Current Employee), Burnaby, BC – May 16, 2013
Pros: locations
Cons: working mostly weekends
Hardest part of the job is the hours, working until 11pm or even midnight at times does make it hard to have a life balance.
Most enjoyable part is the customer service, finding out what she needs making her day better and easier in even the smallest ways.

Our management team communicates well and does their best to make it "Fun".

Fun and comfortable environment
Stock specialist/sales associate (Former Employee), toronto, on – May 8, 2013
Cons: constant change of managers
A typical day at work would consist of helping costumers in the fitting/change rooms or working in the stock room to organize the new merchandise that was received that morning.
Working at La Senza taught me how to organize my time and work schedule according to the amount of responsibilities given that specific day.
My co-workers were fun, out-going – more... and easy to work with.
The hardest part of my job was maintaining the stock room by myself.
The most enjoyable part of my job was constantly having fun with my co-workers as we worked and achieving store goals together as a team (sales). – less

New owners have cut hours back so far that everyone is now looking for other work. The rota is always being changed at last minute.
sales assistant (Current Employee), Basingstoke – May 3, 2013
Pros: 30% on full price stock
Cons: rotas changing at the drop of a hat.
Its a fairly quiet shop, but that maybe due to the location upstairs. Since we were bought out of administration, things havent gone smoothly. This year the owners have cut some contracts out, so we all had to re-aply for new contracts. Some people were cut from 40 hrs to just 20hrs. Due to this, most of us are now lookin for work elsewhere. The staff – more... are lovely but they are leaving one by one so wont be many of us left soon. I have enjoyed my time there, but the takeover has left us all feeling worthless. – less

Lack of job security. Consistently worried about job security. When store was closing we were informed more from internet than company.

Sales Associate (Former Employee), Brockville, ON. – April 5, 2013
Pros: discounts
Cons: not enough hours.
A typical day at work would be greeting customers and helping them find there perfect purchases. I learned a lot about sizing and feeling comfortable with customers. The management wasn't always great, but it was a good experience to work there for the time that I did. My co-works were very easy to work with and were all very friendly. the most enjoyable – more... part of this job was to see the inside and how a retail store worked. I very much enjoy working with customers and helping them find exactly what they need. – less

Worst Job EVER!!!
Assistant Manager (Former Employee), Carlisle – March 20, 2013
Pros: full time hours
Cons: pretty much everything!
The job itself was pretty good but the staff...my god! So up themselves it was unreal. Spent every minute of every day looking in the mirror and ignoring customers. Customer Service standards of staff was absolutely shocking! Manager an absolute joke...no clue how to run the store. Extremely catty and malicious staff and generally not a nice place to – more... work at all. Was bullied horrifically by the Manager and the Supervisor who wanted my job...to the point where I couldn't bear going to work every day and I had to leave. If your considering applying for a job here...DON'T!!! – less

Freindly and a little unsure.
Team Manager (Current Employee), Edinburgh – March 14, 2013
Pros: rotational weekends off.
Cons: no benefits and minimum wage. no security in my role.
Having only started with La Senza a few weeks before christmas I only have a short time of experience with them. With the company going in to last year and then being rescued it is now a very challenging place to work. I say challenging due to the fact that I feel my job security to be almost none.
I enjoy working with the company as it is a fun you – more... environment as well as the staff being extremely friendly and helpful. I think that the people I work with are what make my day.
I do enjoy the customer interaction part of my job and being able to make a customer happy and get what they came for.

A normal day for me would be to open and set up the store, get the girls ready for the day ahead and get them briefed on the tasks and expectations of them for that day. Obviously to interact with customers and to push the targets and KPI's. Also during the day I would have to deal with any problems or challenges that would come up, I would keep intouch with othe stores, area management and the HR department too. Then I would close the store by taking off the tills and banking the daily takings, making sure that the store was clean and tidy for the next day of trade and then I would lock up the store.

I think that this role has taught me great delegation and time managemnt skills as well as how to deal with problems and with any staff quires or issues. At the moment I would say that the hardest part of my job is not knowing if it is secure or not, its a scary thought. – less

Worst Job Ever
Keyholder (Former Employee), calgary, ab – March 6, 2013
Pros: decent pay
Cons: racist management, no proper training
The management was racist. They didn't know how to properly train and coach their associates. Instead of teaching me how to do something they would just be on your case telling you to do it right. Like, how am I supposed to know what the right way is when you didn't teach how me to do this entire process in the first place?

Great place to work
Lingerie Consultant (Current Employee), Watford, Herts – February 21, 2013
If its a day when delivery is received, then it must be checked off and processed first and foremost. When this task is completely finished, and all delivery has been put away, the daily planner must be referred to- this states which zone each member of staff must be responsible for. On many occasions, a floor move must be carried out also.

An extremely fun and friendly environment
Customer Assistant (Former Employee), Coventry – January 28, 2013
During my time at La Senza I learnt many things. I would help customers on the daily basis with their specific needs and wants, ensuring they had a fulfilling experience shopping with us. I learnt how to use a cash register and to gift wrap the appropriate way. The hardest part of my job was probably working during the busiest season of the year as – more... there were lots of customers. However, this was also extremely fun as I was able to interact with many people.
I enjoyed working at La Senza as it was a great friendly environment and I was very much appreciated for my hard work. – less
