A fast paced ever changing environment to work
Store Manager (Former Employee), Eastgate Square Stoney CreekSeptember 9, 2013
Pros: fun product to sell.
Cons: sunday night visual changes and last minute changes that required finding staff to come in.
I worked at La Senza for many years and experienced all kinds of changes in the everchanging world of retail. I really enjoyed working with my staff to ensure ultimate customer service expectations were met. I enjoyed the product in the first 10 years. I was also able to be a part of a company training program and was area trainer while the position – more... lasted. I also very much enjoyed the visual end of it and was also a visual trainer during the christmas season at various locations. – less

Great co-workers and an overall exciting place to work
Sales Associate (Former Employee), Ottawa, ONSeptember 7, 2013
Pros: employee discounts, store location convenience
Cons: not a lot of regular hours
A typical day at work was busy and went by fast, always on my feet either interacting with customers, co-workers or tidying up something. I learned how to maximize sales without being a pushy saleswoman, I learned how to do a bra fitting and I also learned how to use a standard cash register. My management was great, I got along great with my manager – more... and I am still friends with my assistant manager. My co-workers were all females and we were all in the same age range so we also got along good. The hardest part of the job would be the down time because I enjoyed helping people shop and the most enjoyable part of the job was helping someone find exactly what they wanted. – less

productive working environment
Sales Assistant (Former Employee), Southend On sea,EssexSeptember 6, 2013
Pros: 10% discount approx in the store
Cons: changing hours without consulting me
Experience of customer service, cashier, sales.
Felt welcome to start off with and gained further training and other experiences.
After amount of time I was working I started to feel uncomfortable with the manager and other workers as I was descriminated over my learning disability-taking the micky out of my speech and the way I was working and learning – more... the ropes (dyslexia attendancy). After a numerous occassions of reporting this to head office, it was clearly that nothing was dealt with the matter and I clearly felt that I was physically and emotinally upset with the descrimination and again was not dealt with in the working environment.

After this was reported nobody came to apologies to me and after a short while whilst working with la senza I had an injury to my right foot outside the building and sprained my ankle whilst working on shop floor. After reporting this injury to my manager at the time I was then advise to seek medical advise vis my gp. Therefore I was told to report to a&e by my gp and had been given x ray and had fractured my side of my foot. I then physically struggled to walk into the store and physically give the manager my medical certificate.

Still suffering from my injury after 2 months when the injury happened, head office wanted me to return but I was not advised to under hospital consultant and have been sending continuous medical certificates to head office stating with a note regarding my latest hospital appointments. After a phone call a few days after I recieved a p45 in the post without any explaination of my employment terminated, after passing 3 months probation trail.

The one thing that I enjoyed doing at la senza was helping customers on which items they were enquiring and wanting to purchase in the store.
The hardest part of my job was taking out the cash from the till and adding the total amount of takings as I was not been recieved full training to do and delievering up to the payroll department to send them the amount of takings recieved the same day.

I have learnt different types of experience whilst working at la senza for example learning how to do bust measurements for female customers and stock rotation. – less

What I've Learned
Seasonal help (Former Employee), Chilliwack, BCAugust 13, 2013
Pros: meeting new people and gaining experience and knowledge of retail.
Cons: wish i had more assigned hours.
A typical day at work includes managing a lot of different people and obstacles I would normally have to face on a day to day as well as responsibilities tending to the store. I deal very well with other people, so co workers and myself get along very well which is important in communicating. The hardest part of any job is how you deal well with others – more... but also can be the most enjoyable part as well. – less

Great Experience with Sales and People Management
Sales Assistant - Xmas Temp (Former Employee), BristolJuly 8, 2013
Pros: safe, enjoyable, educational, vocational, social
Cons: long hours
The most enjoyable part of the job was communicating with new people on a daily basis, this made me learn people management skills and helped me too enjoy my work. Good Customer feed back always made me happy to help. I also learnt the vital skill of sales and being able to lure a customer to buy merchandise. The Management was always Helpful and Professional – more... However Because this was only a Christmas Temp the hours were long which was hard to handle on some days because it was running up to Christmas which is a busy time of year. Overall the working Environment was safe and enjoyable – less

Worst Job I've Ever Had
Sales representative (Former Employee), Owen Sound, ONJune 25, 2013
Pros: discount
Cons: poor hours/pay, rude staff, disorganized
I used to work at the Owen Sound store for almost a year and a half and it was easily hands down the worst job I've ever had. Where to begin...the staff are completely incompetent and full of themselves- the younger staff are trashy and frequently gossip about customers behind their backs. I was promised a promotion and it was given to someone who basically – more... sits on their butt when they're there. The hours are non-existent- I was down to 4 hours/week there before I quit. The management has NO idea how to schedule or run the store which makes the environment there so disorganized and chaotic! In a nutshell, 5 people (not including seasonal staff) quit in a year. That says a lot! – less

For my first Job it wasn't what I expected
Sales Associate/Cashier (Former Employee), Surrey BCJune 20, 2013
La Senza was an okay company to work for. I felt I didn't get acknowleged for the "great" job I thought I was doing. Not getting a raise for much more than a year into my employment with La Senza. Staying late and going way over my hours did not even get me a pat on the back. Although this company helped me realize that I have great potential and I – more... definatley feel I can go above and beyond for my employer no matter what the pay and attitude being recvieved from the company. – less

Looked forward to each day, challenging
Sales Assistant (Former Employee), Harrow, ENGJune 20, 2013
I'd start at 8:45, make sure the store is fully stocked, hoovered and tidied up, receive daily tasks set by my manager and followed them through, for example, greet customers and offer assistance, keep the store tidy throughout the day (putting back products customers left or re-stocking).

Productive/Professional workplace
Sales Assistant (Former Employee), Westfield, ENGJune 12, 2013
Pros: staff discount
Cons: late finishes during weekends and peak periods
Shifts at La Senza varied from early to late shifts across the weekend. My duties included serving and helping customers, replenishing the shop floor, stockroom duties, fitting room duties, bra fitting and general customer service tasks. From my position at La Senza I learnt how to provide excellent customer service, how to use my initiative in busy – more... periods, team work skills and also how to work individually on tasks.

Shop management provided support to staff throughout shifts and were easy to approach regarding any shift or personal issues. I enjoyed every part of working as a team. I feel I am confident to combat tasks alone but also felt like all other colleagues helped in the smooth running of the shop floor. The hardest part of my La Senza job was trying to keep the shop floor tidy and organised during sale periods. It was also a challenge trying to stay on top of bra fitting targets. I enjoyed being face to face with the public and providing customer service to anyone who walked into the shop. I also enjoyed every challenge that each shift brought me. – less

Great place to meet new people
Assistant Manager (Current Employee), OttawaJune 2, 2013
Pros: meeting so many new people
Cons: long late night shifts
Working at la Senza I have been able to build many friendships and have learned so much about the retail world. We were always learning new ways of engaging with our customers and learning new practices. The hardest part of the job is probably haveing to work long nights. A majority of my shifts were 12-10.30 with only a half hour break around 3.30.

Productive and fun atmosphere to work in
Key Holder (Current Employee), Burnaby, BCMay 16, 2013
Pros: locations
Cons: working mostly weekends
Hardest part of the job is the hours, working until 11pm or even midnight at times does make it hard to have a life balance.
Most enjoyable part is the customer service, finding out what she needs making her day better and easier in even the smallest ways.

Our management team communicates well and does their best to make it "Fun".

Stock specialist/sales associate (Former Employee), toronto, onMay 8, 2013
Cons: constant change of managers
A typical day at work would consist of helping costumers in the fitting/change rooms or working in the stock room to organize the new merchandise that was received that morning.
Working at La Senza taught me how to organize my time and work schedule according to the amount of responsibilities given that specific day.
My co-workers were fun, out-going – more... and easy to work with.
The hardest part of my job was maintaining the stock room by myself.
The most enjoyable part of my job was constantly having fun with my co-workers as we worked and achieving store goals together as a team (sales). – less
