Shop Foreman/ Shop Manager, Houston, TX - March 13, 2016
I was hired into a newly created position to supervise the technicians and daily operations at both the Landrover and Jaguar service departments at the third largest dealership in the U.S. The bar was set very high to achieve a number of bonus levels, which allowed me to earn an income beyond original expectations. A typical day included monitoring the repairs of all technicians, assisting with diagnosis of problematic vehicles, reporting to management, and maintaining cleanliness and safety in both shops. I greatly increased my knowledge of these exceptional brands and grew my supervisory experience while motivating, training, and overseeing 21 technicians. The hardest part of the job involved the lack of work/life balance and the overall culture of this environment. I most enjoyed the high level of responsibility and technical as well as leadership training that was offered to me in this position.
