History: An organizational meeting to establish a general acute care hospital in the northern part of East Baton Rouge parish was held in February 1957, and four months later, Hospital Service District #1 was created. When Lane Memorial – more... opened in November, 1960, we were a 40-bed acute care not-for-profit hospital. Lane has continued to grow over the years by expanding facilities, updating technology, and offering new services.
