Generalist for lab
Generalist & Lead Tech Hematology/Blood Bank (Former Employee), El Paso, TXJuly 5, 2014
Pros: generalist
Cons: na
As a day shift lead tech generalist, I was in all departments to help out. My main departments were Hematology and blood bank. I learned new instrumentation and became a CAP inspector. Management was good at at delegating task to techs when needed. Co-workers were great to work with when help was needed. Most enjoyable part of my job was learning new – more... instrumentation for hematology, blood bank and chemistry. – less

Host (Former Employee), El Paso, TXNovember 28, 2013
A typical work day would be, once you clock in. You go to your work station and start working. Find out if there is anything specific management wants you to do. Or you start off where your co workers left off. My co- workers were somewhat helpful. Of course just like at job there's always your hard workers and your lazy workers. I was one of the hardest – more... workers. As much as I disliked That i would work my hardest to get things done when others would just stand around talking I did it. Because I knew if i didn't do what was supposed to be done, either it wouldn't get done or eventually your going to be told to do it.The hardest part of my job was sometimes having to work in a hostile environment. And Management really couldn't do anything about it. The most enjoyable part of my job were the cheerful patients. Even though they were sick, They still found a positive aspect of being in the hospital and still finding a way to keep a smile on they're face. Which made me keep a smile on my face even when my days were bad. – less

Enjoyed my time in the recovery room, worked with really nice doctors and nurses. Hard part about my job was working with sick children and geriatric patients. Wish there was more I could do for them.
