It was a fantastic opportunity to manage a large, high-volume wine bar and gain experience managing and creating multiple effective programs. I quickly developed invaluable rapport with influential guests and my fantastic team. The Tasting Room Uptown is extremely profitable in its current state but is not expandable due to its on/off-premises sales structure. They are trying to adapt it into a restaurant although this is not what the guests want as was reflected in extensive market research. The enterprise has decided that they want to try it anyway in order to attempt to expand the concept out of state where retail wine sales would not be permitted. This has caused a spike in manager and staff turnover and a negative response from the guests.
