This legal assistant position, beginning in May 2013 or immediately upon college graduation, whichever is sooner, and ending in summer 2014, is geared towards a recent college graduate seeking work experience before attending law school in fall 2014. The assistant will work in a busy, fast-paced small law firm that offers significant hands-on experience in all aspects of the practice. The legal assistant drafts documents, corresponds and speaks with clients and other attorneys, conducts legal research, and sometimes assists with court appearances. The assistant will also be responsible for all administrative and clerical duties. Exceptional communication skills, including excellent grammar and spelling, are essential. Please note that a car is required for this position, as the assistant will need to go court to file documents.
Overtime work is routinely required, and will be compensated accordingly.
