I work with a great family at LMS
Instructional Assistant (Current Employee), Leander Middle SchoolAugust 2, 2013
Pros: great team
Cons: benefits are mediocre
I've acquired new skills working at Leander Middle School. I enjoy working with the staff that I do because they are like my other family. My co-workers and I have a great relationship and work really well together. We hold each other accountable and help out when it's needed. I enjoy going to work each day to work with the special education program – more... that I am a part of. It can be extremely rewarding. The most difficult part of my job is when we have to contain a student as a last result.
Our Principals at our school are outstanding and very approachable and willing to help me with anything and answer my questions. Being a new employee, this makes it more comfortable to be at work. My principal is always discussing advancement, knowing that I am pursuing a teaching job. – less

An enjoyable place to work while educating students.
Substitute Teacher (Current Employee), Leander, TexasJune 17, 2013
Pros: flexible scheduling.
As a substitute teacher my day starts by checking in at the office and going to my assigned room. I am responsible for teaching a variety of subjects to all grade levels K-12. I enjoy substitute teaching, because I believe that education is a powerful tool that can enrich the lives of young people by providing a platform to grow and make intelligent – more... life decisions. I enjoy the other faculty that I work with and have always been shown respect. – less

Opportunity to work with some of the best teachers in the State.
Substitute Teacher (Former Employee), PreK thru 12May 2, 2012
Pros: as a substitute teacher, there are always jobs in this district.
Cons: pay own taxes, no health benefits
Very positive environment sprinkled with good old fashioned southern hospitality. It is a competitive and nurturing environment where giving is second nature and thank you is commonly used. It is a contagious place where team spirit is plentiful. I would go back to work in this fantastic school district in a heartbeat if we were back in the Austin area. – more... Exemplary status is common place in this district and discussion for a child's future is ingrained in all. The students are told why education is important every single day. In this district, students can tell you why education is important. Many diverse cultures from all over the world and US reside here which makes it that much more special. – less
