In general LF was a good place to work. If offered what I needed to be able to have a good work/life balance. Like most companies it had it's ups and downs, and unfortunately the last down was to much to overcome.
Great people, competitive benefits, good work environment, good systems, employees had a say in things
Lacked direction at times, long term development often set aside for short term success, inconsistent message from management, processes and procedures not always followed
Associate Brand Manager (Current Employee) – Emeryville, CA – October 8, 2015
LeapFrog has some of the best people I've ever worked with. That being said, leadership has done a poor job the past couple of years communicating their strategy (if one has even been created). Things will be tough the next couple of years if the company can pull through.

Loved working for such a dynamic company with great, innovative educational and play products. The work environment was a bit hectic in an open floor plan. The work was exciting and challenging and I learned alot from each assignment. They had explosive growth as a tech company, so things were always changing. Great benefits and compensation. The work-life balance was a challenge.

Overall the people I work with are great. Co-workers are responsible and care for the company and the people we all work with. Upper management is somewhat disconnected with employee's needs and concerns and also with the market trend.
Process definitely needs improvement. Too many heads making decisions align with their own egos but not enough ears to listen and hearts to work together as a team. Everyone wants to lead and no one wants to follow. The ones who are leading don't seem to know where they are going.
The original goal of helping kids learn to read is great.
Process is clunky and disconnected causing delays in decision making and missing deadlines
Product Manager (Former Employee) – Emeryville – July 7, 2015
I was honored to work for Leapfrog when video games were focused on education and learning... I was glad to feel like a pioneer in the industry by working on products that have a direct impact on the children and communities globally.
Director (Current Employee) – Emeryville, CA – January 15, 2014
Froggers solve complex problems everyday in-line with the Company's core mission and make it universally accessible to all employees. In additions, the key thing that makes working at LeapFrog truly unique is the workplace culture that encourages innovation and a healthy disregard for the impossible.

- it's a fun place to work - people are great - products are innovative and exciting to work on - processes at LF are not clear and inefficient - there is a general lack of direction - cross functional teams do not communicate well - no learning opportunities
