work/life balance
Health Information Management - Coder I (Former Employee), Fort Myers, FL – April 25, 2013
Pros: flexible schedule
Cons: management left that was good for the company
work/life balance was great because you had to work 40 hours a week and was a flexible schedule.

The management left one by one and it was not the same.

OR CLERK
O.R. Clerk/Administration (Former Employee), Fort Myers, FL – April 17, 2013
I enjoyed the job and the people working there... however there are way to many chiefs and not a lot of indians... in other words it was difficult to execute a task wihout conflicting management instructions. They meant well... but it needs improvement.

A great opportunity to continue my career and get out of the snow.
Registered Nurse (Current Employee), Fort Myers, FL – February 24, 2013
The seasonal traveler position at Lee Memorial allows me to get out of the snowy winters in Minnesota. This is a benefited position with a living stipend . I enjoy the floor I work on. It's challenging, but the teamwork is phenomenal.

Poor employee satisfaction
Tech (Former Employee), All three – February 11, 2013
Pros: a job while you have one.
Cons: expected to work job of two for poor 2% raise if your lucky
Worked for three of the hospitals. No team players at the cape. Management is worried about their own bonus check than employee satisfaction. Difficult to please.
At one time incentives to work harder but told your replaceable by new grads that are cheaper.
Basically patients are dollar signs and staff are expendable.

Friendly and enjoyable workplace.
Secretary to Nursing Director (Current Employee), Ft. Myers, Florida – January 5, 2013
Pros: friendly and very respective enviroment.
Cons: advancement is preached but not very achievable in my role, reminded about bad economy, easy to replace, no financial gain just increased work load.
Great leadership @ Lee Memorial Hospital, friendly and enjoyable place to work. I love working at this hospital in my present role but financial incentive does not match work loads that increase daily.

Fun place to work. Enjoyed the floor I worked on for 22 years
Charge nurse overseeing 36 patients (Former Employee), Fort Myers, FL – December 19, 2012
Pros: flexible staffing. great teamwork
Cons: staffing can always be a challenge
I was a floor nurse, charge nurse and became a clinical supervisor. On a typical day I could possibly be in charge overseeing the nurses and the 36 patients on the unit. If working on the floor I would orient new staff members, assist in passing medications, assist with bedside pt care, pulled arterial sheaths, maintained cardiac drips, transported – more... patients to test areas if on a Cardiac drip, staffing, support the physicians, respond to any patients who may not be doing well and assist in met calls. Available where ever my help was needed. As a supervisor I did scheduling, Interviewing and hiring new staff, disciplining staff, maintaining JACHO files, management meetings, participated in quality counsel, daily and or weekly audits, patient rounds, assist in coverage on the other two units we had. All three units were PCU level. One floor was 22 pt's the other 20 pt's. Again where ever my help was needed. I had a wonderful repoire with the staff and management. The stress of being any nurse is the hardest part but we as nurses learn to cope. The most enjoyable was patient and employee satisfaction. – less

The company to work for
Prn Primary Wound Care Nurse (Former Employee), Fort Myers, FL – December 6, 2012
Pros: great hours
Cons: position changed to hours that i was unable to work at that time
I have learned a lot while working at Lee Memorial Health System, time management, priority and documentation. I was the primary wound care nurse at the rehab care center, I made rounds on my patients daily and every other week the MD would come to make rounds as well. We also used wound vacs frequently at this center, therefore I am well experienced – more... in this technique. – less

A Culture of Excellence
Medical Library Assistant Manager (Former Employee), Fort Myers, FL – September 15, 2012
Pros: excellent benefits
Cons: many staff have been in one position for over 25 + years.
This 8000+ employee health care system has a network of excellent physicians and staff. The hospital maintains access to current medical information for research for physicians, nursing staff and allied personnel as well as the public. The four location medical library is staffed by only 2 FTEs and the rest of the duties are performed by volunteers.
