This is a fast-paced, high-pressure school both for students and teachers. The volume of work does not match the amount of time given to teachers. Prep time is taken up by various duties that are mandatory. Before/after school duty, tutoring, etc. take up 84% of teacher prep time, leaving a very small amount of time to, actually, meet the expectations. Additionally, grade levels do not share common time for specials, making meeting for grade-level planning and collaboration next to impossible (unless you are willing to give up your lunch or more before/after school time). Class size can max out at thirty-four. For the youngest learners, this is a less than optimal academic environment.
The staff is excellent, and administration is, generally, very supportive.
