The Broadcast Engineer is primarily responsible for ensuring the technical quality and uninterrupted operation of the broadcast equipment used to acquire and produce daily and weekly programs for Creflo Dollar Ministries. This individual will be the key player in solving technical issues, recommending equipment purchases and developing a comprehensive maintenance schedule and process. The Broadcast Engineer must be well versed in current technologies, equipment and trends used in the broadcast industry. He/she will ensure that WCCI broadcast equipment and systems are properly functioning and maintained to the highest level of safety and technical standards, develop routine maintenance and upgrade schedules for broadcast equipment, computers, etc. The Broadcast Engineer will work closely with IT department to determine plans and best practices for existing and future equipment and systems, and interpret and diagnose technical issues/problems using a variety of sources and solutions. The Broadcast Engineer will maintain accurate record of equipment assets, technical documentation and maintenance history, accumulate quotes from 3rd party vendors for equipment upgrades, maintenance and purchases, and give production/post production and acquisition work flow the highest of priority, ensuring minimal down time.
Qualifications: A BS / BA degree in Broadcast Engineering, Television or related field preferred. The ideal candidate must have 10 years or more relevant experience in the television industry. He/she must have 10 years experience in Broadcast engineering, maintenance, digital and high definition operations with TV station, network or production companies, extensive experience and knowledge of current IT and digital trends, technology and work flow, and strong understanding of television production and FCC regulations. He/she must have knowledge and experience with Broadcast cameras and non-linear editing equipment, ability to plan, execute, design and budget equipment maintenance, purchases and installations, ability to act quickly and pragmatically, under pressure, to prioritize and resolve technical issues and ability to contract and direct the work of 3rd party vendors as needed. The Broadcast Engineer must be fluent in digital technologies that are used in the acquisition and/or distribution of broadcast materials, excellent understanding of production and post-production processes that support daily and/or weekly television broadcast.
