Spectrum Administrators, bad choice
Spectrum Administrators (Former Employee), Old Mack Building – December 25, 2012
Cons: too many to mention
Management loves to micro-manage and will call you out on even the smallest mistake. Very poor morale in claims processing unit. When LVHC execs come to visit, Spectrum Execs become friendly and then are mean again when execs leave. Management treats employees like children. Watch your back. Don't know about working at the hospital but my experience – more... with Spectrum was a nightmare. – less

Poor management, bullied at work, horrible pay and benefits.
RN (Former Employee), Allentown – October 26, 2012
Pros: none i can say at the moment.
Cons: poor pay and benefits. no accountability of management. you're just a number
I used to be proud to work at LVH. My last position however was just horrible. I was bullied, treated like an idiot despite many years of experience, my most recent boss was counseled for the terrible way she treats people, yet was given a promotion despite this. I was bullied by another employee, and management actually laughed when I said I wanted – more... her fired. This network has gotten so large that as an employee, you are just a number, and nobody cares if there is a problem. If you open your mouth, you are gone any way they can make you leave. Having now found a new position, I realize the pay, benefits and culture at LVH is appalling. I am an RN, and am glad I no longer work there. In 32 years of employment I was not sent to one conference to further my knowledge or be able to network. Yet my bosses would go frequently. Never enough money for the people doing the work....but always enough for a trip to Florida for the administrator or a brand new Ipad. No accountability, favoratism, the good nurses are beaten down, the bad ones just float on by. It's completely out of hand.... – less

Great hospital
Unit Secretary (Former Employee), Allentown, PA – October 22, 2012
Pros: pleasant enviornment
Cons: working at a very fast past with minimal assistance.
I really enjoyed working at Lehigh Valley hospital in different departments expanding knowledge of various duties for specific departments. Working in the ER was very challenging, because it's a very fast past environment. Being assisted by the nursing staff was very helpful.

It is a very interesting time working there because i get to meet alot of new people, I also get to see alot of interesting stuff while learning about it also so its a great expierence for me. Technical Partner (Former Employee), Allentown – July 18, 2012
Pros: outstanding health care
Cons: over a hour drive
Very busy place to work! I enjoyed my experience working for LVHC. My co-workers were so helpful, management was excellent, benefits were outstanding, and the unit I worked on gave me a whole new perspective on life and living. The hardest part of the job was watching some be cured of cancer and some passing.

state-of-the-art teaching hospital... picturesque locale
Registered Nurse (Former Employee), Allentown, PA – July 9, 2012
Had the benefit of working here fresh out of nursing school... extensive support structures in place for new grads. Technology at the forefront... learned many things that I have yet to be exposed to since.

An interesting place to work with alot of different interactions with patients.
patient transporter (Former Employee), Allentown, PA – June 27, 2012
Pros: 45 minute lunches
Cons: everything was timed
It seemed as though there were no two days the same. Sometimes it could be very busy and other days were slower paced. I learned that different people have different ways of looking at the same issues. The most enjoyable part of the job was meeting different people and hearing about the things that they have done. The hardest part of it was being timed – more... with every job that was done, for me it seemed as though I never got to talk with the people that I moved. – less

PATIENT ACCOUNT REPRESENTATIVE (Former Employee), Allentown, PA – June 2, 2012
I can't speak for the entire network, however in the patient accounting office for the hospital many of the people do not care if you are dead or alive and feel it's okay to walk all over you

Staff Radiographer - Per Diem (Former Employee), Allentown, PA – April 23, 2012
It has been a long time since I worked at LVH, but what I have learned I have carried with me in my everyday life. A typical day of work was challenging, unpredictable, and rewarding. I enjoy helping people and times when there is nothing more you can do to help them is the hardest part of any day.
