Good professional firm
Project Manager (Current Employee) –  Los Angeles, CAMay 27, 2016
Excellent firm if you want to work with, and learn from, some of the industry best. Yet you better be ready and on your game. Company has great projects, and selects them carefully. Generally positive culture. It is more of a corporate than family environment. People are friendly and very willing to help. Company actually cares about their employees and offers good benefits.
Pros
Good people that are collaborative, and great projects
Cons
High expectations

Long Term Employees are Management Only
Support Staff (Former Employee) –  Columbus, OHMarch 18, 2016
Lend Lease makes new employees feel very welcome at first. Things change quickly. Project Management is a joke at best and most work is completed by Superintendents and Project Assistants yet PM's enjoy taking full credit.

I have heard great things about other Lend Lease offices but I would think twice about working for the Ohio office.
Pros
Employee Benefits and freedom to work freely on job sites
Cons
Staff turnover, non existing projext managers, entitled help at main office

Leadership and HR do not Lead - Not a good culture
Manager (Former Employee) –  Chicago, ILFebruary 8, 2016
Worked for this company for many years, there is no room for growth, unless you are part of the in click at the time.

Management manages at entry level standards and feels threaten if there are individuals with potential for advancement and reacts negatively, they like to gossip, micro manage, bully, and harass this has become part of the culture. It is a very unprofessional environment and air of arrogance; this can be seen throughout leadership and management.

There is very low moral throughout the organization and it is not a good work environment, the culture does not believe in developing talent or show that their is a succession plan in place within the organization; they look great on paper and definitely say the right things but once you are part of the organization, you find there is no follow through or promises will not be met

Leadership allows management to make the organization a subpar and dysfunctional company; there are no repercussions for harassment or bullying by management from leadership or HR and it is now part of the culture.

Mail Clerk/Receptionist/Concierge (Former Employee) –  New York, NYSeptember 21, 2015
Typical day consisted of handling mail for multiple clients and performing clerical and administrative tasks. I worked well with the other employees. The hardest part of the job is always getting acclimated to a new situation and learning that particular company's policies and procedures.

Left when my colleagues were bullied
Graduate surveyor (Former Employee) –  Olympic village siteFebruary 21, 2015
My colleague was treated very badly by them. He worked very hard and did a lot of overtime,a nd when they promised him a proper salary review, they changed their minds later on. He had to really fight for his rights and Hr treated him very badlly. It was at this company that I grew to mistrust Hr especially in construction companies.
His line manager tried to help him and get that salary increase and pay that he deserved and even the line manager was then treated badly. Both of them were under a lot of stress and finally had to leave the company because of the pressure.
I realised that the company has all these fancy awards and a lot of pride in its reputation about treating people fairly, and finally its all false. If you stand up too tall, they will treat you appallingly.
Pros
i got some interesting experience
Cons
terrible hr

Large company that drives big housing projects
Superintendent Level 1 (Former Employee) –  Jessup, MDFebruary 11, 2015
Worked for Lend Lease for over a year on one project. They have a very business like atmosphere and is not worried about anything but the bottom dollar. Company is not interested in their subcontractors best interest but that is mostly self inflicted as the majority of subcontractors tend to over-promise and under-deliver. Lend Lease is one of the world's largest contractors, for good reasons. They have very competent people working for them but overwork their employees. If a person doesn't like the culture, move along and allow the next person to get their foot in the door. As I said previously, Lend Lease is all business and personal relationships within the company are nearly non existent. Very good company but leaves employees burnt out.
Pros
very competent staff. large projects. can learn a lot working with or for ll.
Cons
work / life balance is non-existent.
