Facilities Supervisor (Former Employee) –  Lewiston, MEMarch 18, 2017
An eclectic group of individuals working in an inner-city public school environment. Facilities are a blend of old and new with all the issues attendant to high use buildings.
Management is most cooperative across the spectrum, with senior leadership support throughout. Wages are marginal for support staff.

Great school and am very thankful to have such great co-workers and students. I have learned what it is like to work in a culturally diverse school and plan on always working in this type of setting.

Substitute Teacher (Current Employee) –  Lewiston, MENovember 3, 2012
Such a need for substitutes in Lewiston that there is never a day that goes by that you are idle. There is always a call to go in.
There are good days and bad days and if you are uncomfortable in a particular assignment, you can opt out of it on another occasion. You are never required to say "yes" to an assignment.
Pros
steady need for work
Cons
varied assignments are not always favorable

Plenty of work to keep you busy.
Education Technician III (Former Employee) –  Lewiston, MEApril 3, 2012
The HR staff are very helpful and willing to guide you through the process of applying online (which can be tricky). Each school appreciates the hard work the staff does to educate and guide students of all ages. They pay higher than Auburn for per diem work. Sadly, some schools are older, with less "charm" or conveniences, but others are new and clean and really enjoyable to work in. For example, one school has a nice lounge with windows and cooking equipment and free coffee, while another has some tables in the basement with just a deep janitorial sink and toaster oven and vending machines for staff breaks. If you like teaching, being creative, and staying busy, Lewiston education jobs are a great choice, and they need you.
Pros
great staff, teamwork.
Cons
many kids resist learning.
