New Home Consultant (Former Employee) – Murfreesboro, TN – September 27, 2017
Management doesn't know what they're doing and consequently affects your ability to close deals - so it affects your commissions and livelihood. In the meantime you have goals to meet - 20 sales per year - which won't ever happen under untrained management!
Provide lunches on Saturdays
Your deals are killed, lack of knowledge about mortgages, don't partner up with the right mortgage companies.Your deals are given to other team members.
One of the best companies anyone could wish to be apart of in life.

New Home Sales Consultant (Current Employee) – Nashville, TN – April 10, 2017
The company culture is great - very focused on you as a sales rep and helping you meet your sales goals. They also have a great growth track record and their sales system is proven to work for any sales rep.
If you are willing to work 7 days a week in order to make a lot of money then this is a company for you. It is a cult-like atmosphere. Not in a negative way but it is definately all about sales and LGI. I enjoyed the majority of the companies policies. They do ask a lot of each employee and maintain a high level of stress throughout the company to continuously increase your sales. There was no vacation time available until I started with the company. They now have a weeks vacation available but made me feel guilty for using it. Did not have any compassion for family or family values. It is a full time all in sales position that pays very well. If that is what you are looking for this is the company your looking for. It was just to time consuming for me and you must work every weekend both Saturday and Sunday. The training is amazing and very comprehensive.
Can make a lot of money
It is necessary to work 6-7 days a week in order to make the money
Sales Manager (Current Employee) – Denver, CO – August 28, 2016
Managing a group of talented individuals. Driving sales and closings as well as the mortgage pipeline. LGI homes hires the best. They have a strong culture and history of success. This job has amazing opportunity for growth and advancement.
New Home Consultant (Former Employee) – Florida – June 13, 2016
Great training and culture at corporate offices in Texas, THEN...you come back to the real world (sales office) where the TRUTH comes out. "They" say your phone "never" stops ringing, which is a lie, unless there talking about the couple of calls that are "section 8" customers asking if these homes are for "rent" due to the false advertising done by LGI Homes by posting in the "rent" section of craigslist. This is bait and switch and should be looked into by the appropriate authorities. Also, their sales module is modeled after a timeshare presentation. You will also be "trained or coached" to not give customers the truth or answer their questions over the phone, but just get them in the door. You are then expected to think fast on your feet to answer all of the customer's rejections and objections based on not telling them the truth about your product even when they ask about these things on the phone before their appointment. The office is positive most of the time, except the negative things that pop up like lying to customers and the MANY hours you have to work. The draw of pay you receive will only last so long and if you don't mind working for peanuts, then this company is for you. Managers try to keep staff positive but everyone is drained of energy by working long hours and being shady to customers.
Training in corporate, Free food, Free drinks, pay IF you sale a house
Bait and Switch marketing, Smoke and mirrors for customers and employees, unethical business practices
New Home Sales Consultant (Current Employee) – Humble, TX – March 8, 2016
LGI Homes treats its employees great! The money is very good but all that depends on how much you are willing to work. The hours are very good, especially if you have a family. They reward you really well when you preform and coach you when you need help in a positive manner. In this line of business you work with very money driven peers like yourself, making the office atmosphere at times very tense and competitive. Other than that, the room for growth is still a bit limited since the company is still growing but the opportunities will be there with time.
Great money, great work life balance.
Benefits are very expensive, cash flow is not consistent.
LGI Homes was a very productive environment that focused on personal and professional growth. The CEO was very aware of what was taking place at each branch and very hands on in regards to managing and accomplishing company objectives.
A company who truely cares about their employees, customers, and quality of life.
new home sales consultant (Current Employee) – Arizona – July 30, 2015
The culture of LGI homes is next to none. Exceptional customer service is the focus, alongside many other core values. Enjoyable work environment, training program like no other (trained by COO and CEO), words cannot express my love and appreciation for this company.
work/home life balance, great financial opportunities, high regards for employees, stocked kitchen
LGI Homes is a company build on a foundation of great culture. They care about their people and customers. I made a bad decision leaving this company. I was chasing making more money in the $300,000 to $400,000 range. As a manager my days were full of time spent helping the sales consultants meet and exceed the goals. This was by far the most rewarding part of the job. There was truly nothing hard about working for this great company.
Very good training and positive management BUT......
New Home Sales Consultant (Former Employee) – Winder, GA – March 4, 2015
You must consider this opportunity as building momentum over a 12-18 month period. A strong draw is provided to Sales professionals until the commissions are earned. It will take at least 12 months to build up momentum.
Great training, good leadership, nice perks (i.e. coffee, food on the job)
Few people qualify to buy a home and fewer actually close.
Corporate (Current Employee) – Texas – December 31, 2014
LGI Homes has been a fantastic experience so far. The people truly make this company fantastic! Everyone is exceptionally hard working, friendly, and most of all POSITIVE. The culture is truly unmatched and leadership leads by example. I know this is a company that I will stay with for years to come!
Culture, Coworkers, Training, Benefits, End of Year Celebration, Free Lunches
Salespeople work weekends, but the rewards and compensation make it worth it.
