It was understood in my department that we worked until the job was done. Sometimes that meant a 40 hour work week, sometimes it meant a 60 hour work week. I was salaried and not compensated for overtime. IMO, this is an abusive practice. I did not feel I could go to HR with a complaint without retaliation. This was one of the reason I quit,

Officially, we were told we must be available from 8-430. Unofficially, and in actual reality, you will be working from 8-8 because you will have so much charting to do once you get home....and you don't get paid for the hours you have to spend charting.

Working hours are 24/7 and this still is not enough time to cover all the basic responsibilities. Management is very proficient of finding ways to waste even more time due to poor communication and disorganization

On call you'll get calls from the patients and caregivers, nurses, therapists, physicians, patients that have been discharged and patients that haven't been admitted!

Don't think you'll have a life if you're on call with a ridiculously high census. You'll have call 24/7 for a week straight, along with being expected to work your regular office hours during the week.

The working hours are fine. OT is monitored very strictly for hourly employees.

If you are salaried, you can expect to work overtime without compensation due to your excessive workload. The kicker is that you think you're doing this of your own volition so you can "get caught up" and be productive. The hard truth is that you are working for free for a company that does not care about your well being.

Standard working hours are Monday through Friday. Not a lot of overtime.
