Residential Program Coordinator, New York, NY - July 21, 2015
A typical day at work included extensive travelling from residence to residence I supervised (7 residences within inter-borough) meeting with direct care staff and management teams and families of individuals provided services; checking documentation of services; writing reports; visiting residents and evaluating services for residents. Inspected safety of each physical site.
I learned every day the importance of treating individuals (individuals provided services and families of individuals provided services and staff and management teams ) with respect and honoring their gifts and graces.
My colleagues and I were of great professional support to one another.
The hardest part of the job was keeping up with the paperwork, but I did well with this task. I most enjoyed seeing the individuality; independence; and productivity fostered with each of the individuals provided services. I also most enjoyed coaching and mentoring direct care staff and management teams.
