As a Key Account manager I would on a weekly basis do the following generally speaking.
Prepare PowerPoint presentations and make appointments as far out as 3 months if needed, most for the next few weeks.
I would do a expense report and update excel files that needed to be into office on a weekly basis.
I would also make my own travel arraignments for the week
I would travel to a geographic area where I can first observe the retail stores (some) of the HQ point I am calling on, make observations and get comments from store management that will increase my odds of a sale.
Travel to HQ point make call, after appointment I would make notes on follow up with account.
While in the market I would travel to accounts competition both chain and independent.
Generally leaving home on a Tuesday and returning on Friday. I work to have my weekends free, as I have some interests that I enjoy pursuing.
