Not such a great place to work
Insurance Underwriter (Former Employee), Phoenix, AZMay 18, 2015
Pros: The smokers porch has a great view of a mountain and during the holidays you get a lot of good food.
Cons: Passive/aggressive office politics and too many butt-kissers.
Don't bother, to much passive/aggressive management to even try to wade through a day. I do not do office politics and can not manage passive /aggressive, so this was not a good fit for me.

Not a great career path
Insurance sales (Former Employee), Mobile ALJanuary 10, 2015
Pros: you work your own schedule
Cons: they still want to control your time, with no pay!
If you are already flowing in extra cash, not in need to make money, and have lots of free time, then this is the job for you. Lincoln Heritage has you to drive around day after day, trying to get people – more... to sign up for insurance (using leads that you pay over $800 for only 25 leads for), they give you no compensation for gas, and they don't even pay you what the promise for the sales that you get. It's great for the company, but sucks for the employees. and coming from someone driven like myself, that says a lot! – less

STAY AWAY!!!!!
Sales Rep (Former Employee), Cleveland OhioJune 23, 2014
Pros: freedom
Cons: leads and chargebacks
Commission only in field with no support, leads they charge you for send you to door knock in very bad areas of low income housing and only advance you if they have checking acct which most do not have.

Commission only position so you make what you put effort into. Requires a lot of driving and being out on the field. Great training and team

Supervising Agent (Former Employee), West Palm Beach, FLJanuary 20, 2014
Pros: rewarding
Cons: cancellation of policies (frequent)
Plotting out territory for day to day business.
Organized.
Time management is MUST.
Very competitive.
Management Role - be open to new and unique teaching habits on new hires.
Learned the power of REFERRALS

Favorite part of position, meeting of new clients learning and adapting to them, always had to break them down and try relating their situation to the product.

Policy Services Associate (Current Employee), East Phoenix AZJanuary 9, 2014
Pros: free kureig machine, large work space, special office equipment when asked for.
Cons: 30 miles from home, heavy fuel cost
- Take calls from clients to resolve issues, schedule payments, and start claims
- Management takes the time to get to kno9w your style and personality. There is no script, just a rubric of required information – more... to cover on each call.
- Claims are difficult because I feel uncomfortable discussing someone's passing.
- What I enjoy the most is the work atmosphere in the office. Everyone seems to genuinely enjoy each other's company, and will help at the drop of a hat if asked. – less

General Agent (Former Employee), Moore, OKNovember 14, 2013
Pros: worked for myself.
Cons: commission only job.
9am to 8pm working hours
I learned a lot of patience trying to find people at there home.
I worked as a free agent commission only didn't really have a manager to speak of.
It was a sales and commission only job so that was the hardest part if you didn't make sales you didn't make any money.
I enjoyed working with people and meeting lots of interesting folks.

Life Insurance Agent (Former Employee), Raleigh, NCMarch 10, 2013
Pros: nothing
Cons: commission only, very scam-ish
This job was the worst. They made you buy "leads" that weren't really leads at all about 90% of the time. Management didn't care about anything but what you sold so they got their cut. Nothing enjoyable about it.

Insurance Manager (Former Employee), Downtown Detroit MINovember 23, 2011
Pros: set your own scedule, working with the seasoned pros, quick advancement
Cons: driving you own car, no taxes taken from pay, charge backs can cause termination
This is a great company. You don't have to generate your own leads you pay for them by taking a loan against ur future adavance. The staff is wonderful and i worked under the head of the agency.
