Clerical Lv. II (Former Employee), Bronx, NY 10451March 31, 2014
Pros: lots of work and etc.
Cons: not enough pay
Working with potential patients for cancer outreach. How it is important to keep records of patients that came through the outreach program. I was responsible on keeping records of how the program helped the uninsured patients. My ex-co-workers was great to work with, and great team players. Having patients keeping their appointments. Seeing patients – more... get the medical they need to stay healthy. – less

Financial Clerk/Emergency Department Registrar (Current Employee), Bronx, NYFebruary 3, 2014
A typical day at Lincoln Hospital is filled with patients with different personalities. The estimate amount of patients we see in the emergency department is around 150. At times it is not the ideal environment because of all the chaos with the patients. The upside to the chaos is, you are able to learn how to deal with all types of individuals. Lincoln – more... provides the experience to work quickly on your feet and take whatever is thrown your way. – less

Surgical Technologist Externship (Former Employee), Bronx, NYJanuary 27, 2014
Working at Lincoln was a great learning experience. I was able to scrub in to a variety of surgeries. I loved that it wasn't focused on one specialty. The staff was very helpful as well as informative. Everyone executed excellent patient care while keeping a comfortable work environment.

Clerical Aide (Former Employee), Bronx, NYJanuary 7, 2014
Pros: lunch voucher.
Cons: no pay
A typical work day includes:
• Answered phones and called patients to confirm appointments.
• Assisted with filing/logging and performed data entry.
• Performed messenger duties.
I've learned to be organized and a work environment and to work reasons other than the pay.
Management was friendly and co-workers were really professional.
The hardest part – more... of the job was working no income.
The most enjoyable part of the job was to understand that money doesn't meant everything. – less

The experience of working at Lincoln Hospital is great because you get to interact with people from all over the world. The ethnic difference is broad and the pace of the wotk is fast. A typical day usualy consists of seeing hundreds of people with all types of complains. Register them in the system, obtain their consent for treatment and insurance – more... information. Give out passes to visitors and admit and transfer patients withing different hospital units. – less

ED Registrar (Former Employee), Bronx, NYSeptember 26, 2013
A typical day at work was very busy. I learned to Multi-task and work in many difficult situations. The management here was unprofessional in many occasions.the Co-workers here are amazing and always willing to help. The hardest part of the Job was working with both adult and children traumas/reuses. The most enjoyable experience here was definitely – more... being able to work directly with docotorsand nurses. – less

Hospital Care Investigator (Former Employee), Bronx,NYAugust 27, 2013
Pros: benefits
Cons: management bias towards new employees
There is alot of bias at Lincoln Patient Accounts Dept, the atmosphere is very tense, management does not want employees interacting but find that its Ok for them to run there mouth and carry on personal conversations on a regular basis

Pros: good experience
Cons: short breaks
A typical day at work is sometimes busy to really busy. i feel that ive gain a lot of experience, paitents, knowledge throughout my time being here. i do believe that management could use some help but they always find a way to make this manageable and good for there co-workers. i have a good relationship with my co-workers always try to keep this positive – more... and work related. the hardest part of my job i could say is when i started all the new material i had to grasp but im a fast learner. The most enjoyable part of my job is that i get along with a lot of the people i work with so it makes things a lil more easier – less

Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center
Certified Nurse Aide (Former Employee), Bronx, NYMarch 8, 2013
Pros: working and meeting a group of very nice people in the health care field.
Cons: not being employed after my internship
I just completed a 6 week internship at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center, It was very rewarding and satisfying. My typical day was taking vital signs, changing bed linen, bathing patients, assisting daily self care needs. I made sure patients were safe from any injuries, I enjoy taking care of people and also helping them take care of themselves. – more... I worked in several sections of the Hospital. The staff were very helpful and willing to train and educate me.The hardest part was getting a little bit emotionally attached but thats just human nature. My most enjoyable part was when patients asked specifically for me because I know I was doing my job right. I also know the HIPPA rules. I would never share any personal information about anyone. – less

Registration Clerk/Medical Receptionist (Former Employee), Bronx, NYAugust 30, 2012
Experience at Lincoln, in the beginning was very enjoyable but once you learn everything can become a little boring. Always a fast paced and crowded office which serviced between 300-500 patients a day. My co-workers were great we always helped each other. Management could of been a little better but they were trying to improve communication.
