uneven work load but profitable company
Manufacturing Engineer (Current Employee), Industry, CAMarch 18, 2014
Pros: benefits, profitable
Cons: workload, manager's people skills
As of writing this, I've been with the company for 5 years, including the year as an intern. It's been oddly satisfying working here. Day to day work is heavily oriented to production. Quality of products can suffer at times, but the job gets done. Very experienced and knowledgeable personnel and management. Factory manager has over 25 years of experience at factory.

Challenging and lots of positive opportunity if given motivation
Production Planner II (Current Employee), Torrance, CADecember 28, 2013
Pros: holiday gifts and the equivalent vacation leave.
Cons: poor management environment in terms of style and dealing with employees.
Start of work is checking, monitoring the status of the released Mfg Order. Reviewing the MRP and action messages.

I have learned to be more consistent and more technically knowledgeable about the manufacturing environment.

Management is not so encouraging and motivating. Fear is always instilled in our mind to achieve our goals.

My co workers are team players and finds coordination and communication an important tool to maintain the flow of efficient production.

The hardest part of the job is understanding the product features and how it is being manufactured in line with the planning function.

The most enjoyable part is attaining your objective and being tap on your shoulder for a job well done.
