Energy division slowly dimminish to nothing.
Global Manager - Projects (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXDecember 5, 2017
Working for a British company that is non-profit is very challenging. Legal and accounting tend to hamper most jobs and clients so the two viable companies they bought to form the Energy Drilling division lost all the momentum that they have had for years.
Pros
Benefits, salary
Cons
corporate structure not condusive to good business

The started in a coffee shop 200 years ago and have not changed
Cook/Dishwasher (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXNovember 21, 2017
Stuck in old thinking. Where some age is good for experience and historic perspective, the old ways of LR anchor it at the dock.

Their IT is a joke and ineffective ( clean it all out and start over!). Their grasp of technology is challenged internally and it impacts the products they attempt to deliver. This company still thinking MS Access is a mainstream enterprise development tool.

There are some good folks working there and the ones that are successful however, are the ones that do not bring new ideas. Static is good and competence is not a critical trait they encourage or develop very well.

LR is also notorious for trolling ideas from other companies and suddenly making them new ideas for LR.

This could be a very profitable and successful company as the energy industry begins recovery if they would do an internal review of the barriers that are holding them back. This site would be recommended reading for their Sr. Staff in London. Clearly input here is in many cases skewed with negative opinions, however there are clear patterns evident across all these threads even from the positive commentary, that should indicate a deeper analysis.

To their credit, the compensation and benefits programs lead the industry. They have had recent reductions, but still provide a fair program compared to their competition. If you can get on and get on one of these program, good deal, just keep your head down and watch out how you communicate ideas.

Management needs to take a hard look at the Sales organization in Americas. There is a kingdom there that subverts
more... anything that LR thinks they stand for, The workplace harassment and improper interactions also put the company risk of being on the news these days, If this was a public company, I would also audit the expense accounts of a few key people to understand why they feel entitled to enjoy jet set accommodations traveling around the world, while people are being laid off or having their compensated reduced.

Best of luck to them!
