I love Lockheed Martin, It was a great place to work and hopefully Retire.but unfortunately I was laid off 6 months after starting my position.If i ever get the opportunity to go back, I would but i will remember to save some of my check.

A Manager that was not a tester did not see the value of test tools such as a spreadsheet connection to the Test Management Tool (Quality Center). Entire contract staff laid off when they had openings in other departments.
The hardest part of the job was to use a spreadsheet to do the job of more substantial test tools (such as WinRunner and Quick Test – more... Pro).
The most enjoyable part was discovering new ways to parse complicated data protocols (such as XML and EDI) using only a spreadsheet.
Mu co-workers were an outstanding team and worked well together as a team effort.

Lockheed/Martin has been a great place to work. Few perks. Flexible workweek, typically 40 - 50 hours per week for salary. Pay is average. Like any defense contractor, you live and die with government budgets.

Inspected and repaired Pratt & Whitney F100-PW-220 jet engines. Qualified to borescope engines and components. Qualified to blend repair compressor blades. Plesant work place, got along well with management and co-workers.

The most enjoyable part of the job was the experience of having participated in this country's advancement in Aerospace Science.

There is no other business quite like Satellite Systems Development, from strategic planning through Systems Engineering, hardware/software design, testing and in-flight operations.
I have been most fortunate to have participated – more... in all of these.

New equipment start ups..

8 hr days or as required.
New Systems.
Meeting goals and deadlines.
Mostly helping team installations.
Meeting goals with limitations involved.
Working with latest inovations and computer errors.

i was everybodies favorite person to see it was pleasant,but yet very professional in all aspects.people were nice and helpfulif you needed something.i learn to work with other people, i loved doing shipping and receiving. it was enjoyable to work there

Productivity and performance oriented departments.
Learning the workings of government based programs.
Management is constantly evolving and you must be as well.

In a typical day at work you encountered many workers from different offices in order to do your job of monitoring aircrafts' maintenance schedule. Everyone worked with the same care and priority understanding that we all supported each other. Worked on customer's site as contractor. Little interaction with Lockheed Martin supervisors or management. Contract ended, they cut me loose without any assistance with finding a new position. Received two weeks severance pay and shown the door.

Learned a whole lot very good people.If I had a chance to go back I would.

If call upon I would work for Lockheed Martin as a contract Engineer

A typical day at work I would say is spent on computers, drawings, dealing with the shop floor and associates

What I learn is to cooperate on the highest level (team work)

Management covered working with staff, customers and suppliers

My co-workers were the best

Hardest part of – more... the job was all the overtime one was required to work (12 hour days seven days a week)

Lockheed Martin was a truly a great company to work for. I had many stretch assignments that were thought provoking and motivational.
Project lead on several tasks with allot of dedicated personnel working for me at several locations around the US. It was interesting to keep everything straightened out, tasks on time and budget and keep assigned people – more... working virtually. – less

Third time I worked for them. Were bent on having a useless Security clearance. Sat on most Of The time. I opted out Of The union, so maybe they could not handle It.

inspection of incoming goods and tooling inspection. I learned new inspection techniques and requirements. Management was ok. Co-workers were ok. Hardest part of the job was working nights and getting bumped by senior inspectors. The most enjoyable part of the job was the benefits and pay.

I worked in a stress free work place but very informative and rewarding dealing with all of the customers.

I was hired through an outsource company Select Temporary Services at the Palmdale aite. Co-workers were helpful while learning my job tasks. My job performance was defined as a contractor. I was treated with great respect by Management and my peers.

Everything I had learned at the Palmdale site actually benefited me when I had relocated to Hampton, – more... Virgina and obtained employment with another Lockheed facility in 1996. I sought employment with Lockheed IMS-Division of the Child Support Services. – less

I worked hard here but they were so good to you, they gave you free lunchs. 45 mins lunchs talked to you every day, just a over all great place.
