Former Coach Operator (Former Employee) –  Long Beach, CAMay 28, 2016
Long work days. If you work a split shift, you could be there for 12 hours with only 8 hours paid. If you work at night, you have to deal with bad people, with little help.
There are hardly anytime for breaks, no meal periods, no chance of advancement unless you're of a particular color.
Pros
Family oriented atmosphere
Cons
No breaks, no meal breaks, and horrible schedules.

Training Supervisor (Current Employee) –  Long Beach, CAMay 6, 2015
A typical day of work at Long Beach Transit could consist of training new student operators on SOP, driving 40, 42, 43 and 60 ft coaches. Conducting refresher training and safety retraining. Teamwork is top notch and very professional. The hardest part of the job is terminating a person that puts in the effort but just can't grasp the training, but the best part is seeing the student as an Operator than as a Supervisor.
Pros
9/80 work day
Cons
Working with people who complain of working there.

Service Planning Intern (Former Employee) –  Long Beach, CAMarch 27, 2015
Long Beach Transit is a place valued team work, having friendly co-workers. The department I worked with gives everyone, even an intern, a chance to select the project he/she is most interested in.

Bus Driver (Former Employee) –  Long Beach, CAMay 8, 2012
It was a very good place to learn about yourself. When you work with the public, you learn alot about yourself , as a person.
Pros
you get chance to met a lot of different people, from different countries
Cons
general public doesn't understand, that you are human, need breaks such as, lunch, &, personal breaks
