Helping the public working in a friendly environment
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) – Long Beach, CA – November 24, 2015
Great place to work, very friendly and customer service oriented. Help was always there when needed and even offered. The most enjoyable part of the job was getting to meet and work with great people who not only enjoyed what they did but were very knowledgeable.
Former Coach Operator (Former Employee) – Long Beach, CA – May 28, 2016
Long work days. If you work a split shift, you could be there for 12 hours with only 8 hours paid. If you work at night, you have to deal with bad people, with little help. There are hardly anytime for breaks, no meal periods, no chance of advancement unless you're of a particular color.
Family oriented atmosphere
No breaks, no meal breaks, and horrible schedules.
Training Supervisor (Current Employee) – Long Beach, CA – May 6, 2015
A typical day of work at Long Beach Transit could consist of training new student operators on SOP, driving 40, 42, 43 and 60 ft coaches. Conducting refresher training and safety retraining. Teamwork is top notch and very professional. The hardest part of the job is terminating a person that puts in the effort but just can't grasp the training, but the best part is seeing the student as an Operator than as a Supervisor.
9/80 work day
Working with people who complain of working there.
