LONGMONT FORD

Longmont Signs was founded in 1964 by Bob Roark. At that time the population of Longmont was between 11,500 and 15,000. In the early days all signs and sign services were done by hand. An emphasis on family values, craftsmanship, attention to detail, and customer service were the hallmarks of the company. Bob was then and is today a true family man. – more... He ensured that his children were taught and understood the importance of a good work ethic. His children Tom, Cindy and Jim have all worked in the business at various times over the years. Tom Roark recall's his father paying him $1.00 per sign post hole he would dig as a youngster.

As the city of Longmont grew so did Longmont Signs. By 1976, with the population of Longmont approaching 40,000, Tom had enough of digging sign post holes and took over the business from his father. Tom has continued to run the business with the same commitment to family values, quality, craftsmanship, and customer service that his father had instilled in him as a child.

In 1998 with the population of Longmont approaching 70,000 Longmont Signs was outgrowing its production capacity in the barn on 17th Ave. That year Tom built and moved the company into the 5,000 square foot facility it currently occupies at 235 Golden Rod Court in Longmont.

As the Information Age crept into the sign industry, Tom recognized that computerized sign making equipment would be a great tool and invested in the new technology. The company has continuously updated its technology and today has cutting edge printers and plotters that can produce wide-format photograph quality outdoor graphical images over 50 inches wide. The company has come a long way since the early paint-by-hand days of the sign industry.

In 2006 the business was purchased by Paul Kelley. The Roark family still maintains a strong presence in the company. Bob, at 71 years young, works as a sales representative, Tom serves in the capacities of Operations and Sales Manager, while Cindy does graphical design and layout. Paul's intent is to continue to run the business with an emphasis on the family values that is Longmont Signs, Inc. The population of Longmont today stands at approximately 83,000 and growing. – lessMore from ZoomInfo »
